Occupational Certifications by Career Cluster When you take certain Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses you may be able to take a related certification exam at the end of the course or program. Many of these certifications will allow you to increase your salary as a high school graduate. For example: - The certification which is available under each cluster and at ALL FBISD high school will allow most employment seekers to start out at a salary about two dollars more than the current minimum wage. - As a high school graduate with an Oracle Database Associate certification (in the Information Technology Cluster) the starting salary with 0-2 years of experience is around $60,000 ("Oracle Certification Program Salary Survey "). The information below was retrieved from the Achieve Texas initiative. Not all courses and programs are offered at all FBISD high schools, therefore not all certifications can be earned at all high schools. For information regarding specific programs located on your campus, please see your CCR Advisor or school counselor.
