He has accepted a position with the Berlin High School food services department beginning in January. He has been a valuable team member on our staff. We wish him God s blessings and all the best in his new endeavor. 4K Mrs. Snow PS/K Miss Linse 1st/2nd Mrs. Fritsch We would like to say thank you and good-bye to Mr. Wendt for his three and a half years of service as our 4K aide. He will be moving on to a new position in the kitchen at the high school. We appreciate all that he has done for us. He will be greatly missed. Thank you to all the families who had their children participate in the Christmas program. The children did a wonderful job. We hope that you enjoyed it as well. We would also like to thank the parents that provided items and helped out with our Christmas party. We had a wonderful time. In 3K we had a fun Christmas party. We spent the last week talking about how santa, and presents are fun but the real meaning of Christmas is the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior. We are excited for our parents to open their Christmas presents. We will be learning a new snack prayer when we come back from Christmas break. It is to the tune of "Ice, Ice Baby" and it goes "Stop, Meditate and Listen God is back with a Son and a mission. His love grabs a hold of you tightly ever flowing day and nightly. Will it ever stop? NO! He gives more doesn't even matter if you are rich or poor. Grace, Grace Baby." I will take care of snack the first week back and send snack calendars home January 4th. In Kindergarten, we had a lot of fun participating in our school Christmas program. We had a blast at our Christmas party this afternoon. We finished the Superkids unit Tt and took a progress test Wednesday. We will also be learning the above mentioned snack and meal time prayer in January. Have a Merry Christmas! Our Christmas program went very well last Friday, and now that our schedule is back to normal (before Christmas, nothing is really normal), We learned about the birth of John the Baptist, Jesus cousin; we also heard again the beautiful story of Jesus birth. It really doesn t seem all That pretty to be born in a cattle stall, but God s plans are never man s plans. We look forward to celebrating His birthday, Saturday and Sunday. In math, both grades ended with an test in lesson 65. 2 nd grade is learning two digit adding with regrouping. More information about this in January. First grade is learning time to the o clock, and counting dimes and pennies. We have been spending a lot of time making gifts and doing fun art projects. Fourth grade has started division, this will get challenging if multiplication facts are not learned. Our upcoming January field trips: Jan. 19 snowshoeing at Heckrodt Nature Center and Jan. 23, a day at the YMCA for Lutheran School s Week. We are happy to have him join us, and if you see him in the hall, please talk to him and welcome him to the St. John school family! In geography we spent t i m e t h i s w e e k researching Canada. In science we are covering a c h a p t e r a b o u t mammals. Remember a few months ago when we did the germination science project and the students wanted to plant t h e s e e d s t h a t germinated to see if they c o u l d k e e p t h e m growing? Basketball & Cheer The girls beat All Saints Tuesday in a very close game. Final score 20 to 18. Brenna scored 2 points, Tabi scored 6 points, Violet scored 8, and Corrin scored 4. Great job ladies. The boys gave it their all but lost to All Saints. On January 3rd, our first day back from break we have away games against Celebration. Games at 4:45 and 5:45. Have a Merry Christmas! Christmas Program A Big Thank you to the Teachers, Students and Staff for making our A Rock in Royal Christmas Program a wonderful success! More from our Principal Please remember to make worship with your family part of this Christmas vacation. We have Christmas Eve services at 4pm (Sunday School) and 7pm on the 24 th. There is one service on Christmas morning at 8am. New Year s Eve (Dec. 31) will have a 7pm service. New Year s Day is on a Sunday so there will be two services at the regular times (8am and 10:30am). There will not be Sunday School or adult Bible study that day. Christmas Program We would like to thank everyone who attended our Christmas program, A Rockin Royal Christmas, last Friday. The students and staff worked very hard to present the Christmas message with family, friends, community, and congregation members. I would like to thank the students for their hard work.
