Data fragmentation builds with time. Slow hard disk access negates the performance of even the fastest CPUs. That s why SolidStore, a special file system, has been developed exclusively for Axxon Next. SolidStore resolves the issue of fragmentation altogether, ensuring read and write times close to bare-metal speeds. Another benefit is that our file system reduces wear and tear on hard disks, thus increasing their service life. One of the key development requirements for SolidStore was maximum preservation of data in the event of random disk sector damage. Thus, SolidStore does not allocate separate blocks for critically important file system information whose loss could render all accumulated data inaccessible. It is precisely because of this that SolidStore did not rely on the OS file system, but instead was developed as a full-fledged file system that communicates directly with the data storage device. Effectively, in SolidStore, damage to any data block on the disk causes only that particular block to be inaccessible, not the entire video archive. Each function is the responsibility of a different micromodule; a dispatcher module monitors the functioning of the micromodules. If a function encounters an error and a process is quit unexpectedly, the dispatcher module automatically relaunches the corresponding micromodule. This does not affect the performance of other processes or the functioning of the VMS overall. After a micromodule is initially written, its code undergoes automated functional testing, substantially reducing the likelihood of errors in the code. This micromodule architecture allows for a VMS that is more stable than anything else on the market. These are all the data on objects moving in the scene which are calculated as the video is streaming and stored alongside with the footage. Within seconds, the MomentQuest2 system will find the records that match the user s query. You can specify the following search criteria: motion in the zone, user-defined with any polyline detection of crossing a virtual line in a user-defined direction loitering (prolonged presence of an object in an area) simultaneous presence of a few objects in an area motion from one area to another. You can apply these filters to your search results: object size object color direction of object motion speed of the moving object zone entry/appearance and zone exit/disappearance (with the motion in the zone criteria). 5 Next level of Time Compressor VIDEO Time Compressor benefits: Quickly review all events over a selected timeframe Speed up search for an event of interest by dozens of times Click to view a relevant video fragment in normal mode Time Compressor Time Compressor allows the user to set a time range for video footage and get a short video clip of all moving objects in the scene. Objects and events captured at different times are displayed simultaneously in a condensed video synopsis. When you spot an object of interest, click to jump to playback of the corresponding video fragment. Time Compressor works by writing tracks of object movement to the archive in parallel with video. This lets us separate moving objects from a static background, and then display multiple objects on screen at the same time in synopsis mode. When there is a small number of objects in the frame at any one time when we re not dealing with a crowd this view substantially reduces the time needed to review the scene over the timeframe in question. To start viewing video in Time Compressor, the user selects the timeframe of interest and sets a maximum number of objects to see in a frame simultaneously say, no more than 10 objects at the same time. The ergonomic interface ensures excellent usability and makes it easy to access the system s full functionality right away. Axxon Next includes the Interactive 3D Map, which superimposes camera locations on a site map and displays camera views in the same window. This handy viewing mode allows operators to monitor situations without spending time to switch between windows. Operators can instantly pinpoint where a selected camera is located on the map and identify the corresponding location of interest. The way we ve made our 3D map is simple but has to be seen to be believed. We take an ordinary 2D blueprint of a facility in raster format: BMP, say. We twist it around into a pseudo- 3D projection (2.5D) and map onto it the cameras with their fields of view. That way the screen still has enough space for showing the video, even as the blueprint is easy to see. Then you can simply adjust the settings so everything works in precisely the way it needs to. After the tool is configured, there is a convenient graphical interface for selecting the system reaction when the tool is triggered. These responses, for example, could be writing video from the camera, sending an SMS or email, playing a sound, or applying presets to rotate a PTZ unit.
