GOAL: RELIABILITY Reliability is a key factor for any product s durability and for competitiveness in the global market. The investment return in product reliability has proven to be very satisfactory for both the user and the manufacturer. At Angelantoni, we have combined 50 years of experience in the design and manufacture of environmental test chambers to provide a state-of-the-art system capable of providing the user with the best performance in the reliability growth process. ABOUT ACCELERATED TESTING Accelerated testing is used to detect and correct any inherent design and manufacturing flaws, and to determine product robustness. The main element of the process is called a HALT test. Typically, a series of individual and combined stresses such as multi-axis vibration, temperature cycling and product power cycling are applied in steps of increasing intensity (well beyond those expected in the field). Test time is compressed with the accelerated stressing, leading to earlier product maturity. HOW? By using the Angelantoni System, you can submit your product to extremes of environmental stress. You can perform various accelerated stress tests like HALT, HASS, Step Stress Testing and others. Each type of stress identifies specific defects that may be missed by traditional testing methods and equipment. WHAT DOES HALT/HASS MEAN? HALT - Highly Accelerated Life Testing This is the process by which a product is tested under vibration and temperature to the point of failure, then redesigned and re-tested until the fundamental limit of the technology is reached. HASS - Highly Accelerated Stress Screening This is the process by which a product is screened during production testing for a set number of cycles at set levels (derived from the HALT on the product) in order to uncover manufacturing defects and process inconsistencies. The HASS limits must be high enough to detect these defects, but not so high as to damage good hardware. WHAT CAN IT DO? The Accelerated Life Test can show you in a matter of hours, how a particular product will stand up to years of operational life. WHY? When these defects are speedily identified in the product development stage, it helps to reduce development time and produces higher quality products, and reduces time to market. HIGH ENVIRONMENTAL STRESS CHAMBER Our UHS is designed specifically to perform accelerated tests by applying extreme environmental stress. It consists of the following systems: - A chamber with front and back door, optional windows and additional portholes (one 80 mm diameter porthole is already included), with liquid nitrogen cooling and heating performed by powerful nichrome heaters, with high, directionally-adjustable airflow, through the air slot or through the 4 flexible air ducts. - The multi-axis 6 degrees of freedom shaker table, provided with direct aluminium fixtures and 9 Teflon-coated actuators powered by compressed air. The table height is adjustable for ease of loading and unloading, and for different chamber volumes (1360 or 980 litres for - The PC with WinKratos software allows the user to interface with the chamber for programming of environmental test cycles and control events, and for real-time acquisition and recording of data. - The electrical control panel, which uses top quality components designed and assembled according to CE norms. - The humidity control system (optional), which adds to the effectiveness of the test by allowing the possibility of adding another important environmental parameter. Conventional chambers for Accelerated Test and ESS are standardized in different sizes up to 2000 litres, with different performances (5 C/min to 30 C/min) and different configurations, to best suit the proper traditional shakers. The wide use of standard components and standard designed modules not only gives excellent flexibility and reliability, but also the maximum cost efficiency for chambers which were once considered customised and expensive.
