Why is vehicle weighing so important? The correct determination of the weight of raw materials and final products has a direct impact on economic efficiency of every company. Nowadays, weighing systems are often part of the comprehensive system monitoring the material flow. Law enforcement weighing The government not only aims at improving the road traffic safety, but also at protecting state property. The widespread introduction of overload monitoring has become a common topic for European transit countries. Improvement of logistical processes An overload container not only worsens the traffic safety and reduces the life of road surface; it also complicates the economic situation of the centre operator. The queue forming on the driveway to the site creates a bottleneck reducing the passability of the centre, and its operators or investors are forced to think about an efficient solution. Instead of the common weighing bridges, it is useful to consider the use of the more efficient Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) system. That s why they are increasingly becoming an integral part of the comprehensive system monitoring the material flow in the company. So why not to be prepared? Utilize the possibility of checking the weight before transporting goods by means of a certified device! When choosing a weighing system, the most important parameter is not its price, but the long-term reliability of the product under hard operating conditions. General description of the weighing on roads concept Based on our experience with operating the weighing stations in the Czech Republic and other countries, we recommend to the client who is considering direct charges of overload vehicles, to build up a two-stage weighing station with a high-speed weighing system (HS WIM) at the first stage for a quick preselection of overload vehicles from the traffic flow, and a much more accurate low-speed weighing system (LS WIM) at the second stage, which is officially approved for inspection (official) weighing. The high measurement accuracy of second stage weighing reduces the number of appeals in administrative proceedings and significantly increases the operational efficiency of the whole station low-speed weighing system works with 5 times smaller error that enables to set a penalty to much more offenders. VM-1.2 Stationary Dynamic System for Automatic Weighing vehicles in Motion The TENZOVAHY WIM System VM-1.2 is a revolutionary change in the way of weighing cargo at logistical terminals, in forwarding and construction companies as well as for law enforcement on roads and highways. Vehicles are weighed while crossing the bridge. Weighing is then automatically evaluated and processed by a computer information system. Product description Scales provides real-time information to the dispatcher centre about immediate weight of the vehicle, all data about its operations, including statistics, trends and possible extreme variations in weighing. An easy-to-use software not only allows for keeping a well-arranged record of vehicles, materials and carriers, but also for issuing invoices and balances and exporting data to the company s related information systems. This facilitates further planning and process optimization. Additional devices make the automatic operation even easier such as boom barriers, traffic lights, video cameras, automatic operation terminals, automatic number plate recognition etc. Important and useful software tools Scales for Law Enforcement Software For law enforcement on vehicle weighing stations, border crossings and toll sites we provide automatic vehicle load analysis according to national load limits. Advanced features like vehicle classification, law compliance checking, Fine calculation, or Load Equivalency Factors settings (LEF) are implemented in this user-friendly software without any additional costs for the user. Data management is included. Load cells are over dimensioned to resist even heavy overloaded vehicle axles and with dynamic shocks that arise during weighing. We use only stainless steel sensors by renowned European manufacturers. Base frames of scales are equipped with a heating cable, which is switched and controlled automatically - heating is thus in operation only for the necessary time saving electricity. These scale work smoothly even in severe frost. Weighing range is from 400 up to 20 000 kg per axle, while the number of vehicle axles is not limited for weighing. Gross vehicle weight is not limited (it may theoretically be e.g. 10 x 20 t = 200 tons). Vehicle length is not limited. Speed of the vehicles during weighing can be up to 16 km/h. Software for trade weighing is developed for control of material supply in construction yards, sandpits, quarries, concrete production yards, waste dumps etc. and offers automatic reporting of weighed material, invoice generation, outputs for company accounting or material supply system. Vehicle weighing can be also fully automated with chip card terminals on unmanned sites and under supervision of up to four cameras. PW-10 portable systems for occasional checking of vehicle load Progress in the development of Tensometric load cells has allowed for launching this thin and light weighing device that combines the reliability with high mobility in everyday operation. PW-10 offers exceptional mobility in vehicle weighing. Weighing site is ready in a couple of minutes. Product description Weighing System PW-10 is a fully portable battery-powered weighing equipment, which can be installed and fully operational within minutes. The unique tensometric weigh pad design together with advanced real-time evaluation allows for checking vehicles not only in the common static mode (axle by axle), but also in the dynamic Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) mode, which is much faster and more efficient. Weighing accuracy is confirmed by type-approval certificate issued by the Czech Metrology Institute. The weighing system consists of two weigh pads with an approved capacity of 20,000 kg per axle, a set of levelling mats and a PC controlled evaluation system, which performs the vehicle load analysis according to national load limits and prints the weighing protocol with overload charges. Important and useful Software tools Portable Weigher software for law enforcement PW-10 portable system operation is easy The weighed vehicle is driven fluently over the weighing zone consisting of a pair of PW-10 weigh pads and four rollable levelling mats. The large weighing surface, high mobility and time-saving Weigh-in-Motion mode are the main advantages of the portable PW-10 weigh pads. The Portable Weigher software was designed specifically for police and other mobile units that check vehicles on roads. This software evaluates actual loads and compares them to national limits and automatically determines fines for overload. The completed vehicle load analysis is displayed immediately after weighing and brings much more information than simple wheel and axle loads available at scales with indicators. The PW-10 system also shows the vehicle silhouette, limit loads for axles and vehicle, compares them with measured loads and shows mass ratios of the vehicle. The PW-10 allows for efficient operation and exceptional mobility in vehicle weighing. The weighing site is ready in a couple of minutes.
