Before you start using your ABN AMRO Business Card Signature Before you start using your ABN AMRO Business Card please sign the strip on the back of the credit card, using a blue or black ballpoint pen. This is to prevent unauthorised use of your credit card. When you make payments that do not require your PIN, you will need to confirm the purchase with your signature. General Conditions By applying for, signing and/or using your credit card you agree to be bound by the General Conditions that you received with your credit card. Paying safely and easily using your PIN The ABN AMRO Business Card is provided with a chip. This chip has been developed to make payments even safer. The chip together with the PIN belonging to your credit card protects you against the risk and inconvenience of fraud. On the one hand because the chip stores your details in a very secure way and on the other hand because in practice use of a PIN is safer than a signature. This means that your ABN AMRO Business Card is fully prepared for the global security standards and facilities that will be introduced in the near future. PIN Your PIN will be sent to you separately from your ABN AMRO Business Card. You can use your credit card and PIN to make payments and if necessary to withdraw cash. Learn the PIN off by heart and destroy the letter containing your PIN in order to avoid improper use. Changing your PIN You can change your current PIN easily into a PIN that is simple for you to remember. You can change your PIN as follows: n Take your activated ABN AMRO Business Card to an ABN AMRO cash dispenser (in the Netherlands). n Insert your credit card. n Follow the instructions on the screen. n Select a PIN that is easy for you to remember. NB n You have to know the PIN that you received at the same time as your credit card in order to be able to change it. n Do not chose an obvious PIN, such as your postcode, date of birth or simple number combinations, such as 1234, 4321 or 0000. n You are obliged to keep your chosen PIN secret. Paying with chip and PIN A credit card payment using chip and PIN is fast and simple. After you have verified the amount, you enter your PIN to approve the payment. You will then no longer need to sign for payments. NB In more and more surrounding countries a PIN rather than a signature is requested for credit card payments. 4 ABN AMRO Business Card 5
What you need to know about your ABN AMRO Business Card Information about your ABN AMRO Business Card In principle you will find everything you need to know about using your Business Card in this brochure. It is therefore convenient to keep the brochure with your papers. At www.abnamro.nl/businesscard you will find the most up-to-date information about the possibilities and use of your card. If you still have questions about your credit card, please call ABN AMRO Creditcard Services on +31 342-429 004. This number is also shown on the back of your credit card. Validity Your ABN AMRO Business Card is valid for two years. The front of your credit card shows the expiry date. If it says valid thru 05/10, for instance, your credit card is valid until the end of May 2010. A few weeks before your credit card expires, you will automatically receive a new card. Once you have activated the new card, you can start using it immediately. Your PIN remains the same. Do not forget to destroy your old credit card by cutting it up. When phoning to ask questions about your credit card you will need the 16 digit number from your credit card as well as your unique identification code. This is the code that you indicated when requesting or activating your credit card. When cutting up your old credit card, cut through both the computer chip and the hologram, to prevent unauthorised use. The hologram is located on the back of the credit card. Spending limit Your ABN AMRO Business Card gives you a generous facility to make payments up to a specific amount: this is your spending limit. The standard spending limit is EUR 7,000 a month. This limit may be raised or reduced. If you want to apply for a higher spending limit on your ABN AMRO Business Card, please contact your personal ABN AMRO advisor. 6 ABN AMRO Business Card 7
How to pay using your ABN AMRO Business Card Paying with your ABN AMRO Business Card You can use your ABN AMRO Business Card to make payments anywhere in the world, at over 24 million outlets. You will recognise the locations at which you can use your credit card by the MasterCard logo, which is also displayed on the front of your credit card. 3. Check the amount before you approve payment with your signature or PIN. In future you will increasingly make payments using your credit card s chip and PIN. If the recipient or shop does not yet use the chip and PIN method, you will be required to approve the payment by signing the transaction slip. MasterCard is accepted worldwide, and the MasterCard logo is recognised everywhere. So you need never be short of cash, wherever you are. 4. You will then be given a copy of the transaction slip. Keep this copy; on your billing statement you will find the details of all transactions: amount, date and location. Keep the transaction slips that you receive when paying with your credit card. You can use them to check your billing statement later. They can also be used as evidence if required. The procedure for paying with your ABN AMRO Business Card is as follows: 1. Make sure that you never let your credit card out of your sight. If you hand over your card, accompany the sales assistant or waiter to the cash register if possible. You may be asked for proof of identity when making a payment by credit card. 2. The recipient or shopkeeper may request authorisation for the payment. This authorisation will be obtained via the terminal, telephone or internet and is associated with security among other things. If you have sufficient available credit and the card has not been reported missing, the payment will be authorised. 8 ABN AMRO Business Card 9
Paying on the internet or by telephone Your ABN AMRO Business Card is ideally suited for making purchases on the internet or by telephone. In addition to your credit card number, you will also be asked for the Card Validation Code (CVC). This code is unique to your credit card and serves as an additional security check. There is a number on the signature strip on the back of your card. The last three digits of this number are your CVC code. Business Card Paying abroad Your ABN AMRO Business Card offers the facility of convenient payment at approximately 24 million addresses worldwide. You will not pay any charges on purchases in euros. Charges are incurred for purchases in other currencies. You will find more information about charges at www.abnamro.nl/tarieven No deposits Your ABN AMRO Business Card is ideally suited for hiring a car or boat. In most cases you will not have to pay a deposit if you are paying by credit card. Cash withdrawals Billing statement Withdrawals from cash dispensers You can use your ABN AMRO Business Card to make cash withdrawals from any of more than 900,000 cash dispensers worldwide. You will always need your credit card s PIN for this purpose. The maximum daily withdrawal may vary from country to country, but is usually around EUR 400. Costs are charged for cash withdrawals. Forgotten your PIN? Call ABN AMRO Creditcard Services on +31 342-429 004, to re-request your PIN. Withdrawals from bank branches In many countries banks will allow you to withdraw cash using your credit card and valid identification at the bank s counter. This is possible up to a limit of EUR 10,000 provided your spending limit is sufficient. Costs are charged for withdrawing money at the counter. Bear in mind that the bank concerned may also charge a fee. Monthly settlement When you use your ABN AMRO Business Card the account will be settled monthly by direct debit. The date of the debit is indicated on your billing statement. Monthly billing statement on paper Every month you will receive a clear billing statement itemising all transactions. You can also see on your billing statement what your spending limit is and how much of that limit is still available. Use of an ABN AMRO Business Card makes your financial accounting much simpler. Cash dispensers and banks at which you can withdraw money using your credit card are identified by the MasterCard logo. Security Your billing statement on the internet You can check all your transactions since your latest billing statement in real-time at www.abnamro.nl/businesscard. You can also check all your previous transactions going back up to seven months. And you can verify your spending limit and the credit amount still available. If you have any questions about your transactions or your statement, please call ABN AMRO Creditcard Services on: +31 342-429 004. This number is also shown on the back of your credit card. Tips for safe use of your ABN AMRO Business Card n Before you start using your ABN AMRO Business Card, place your signature in the strip on the back of the card. n Memorise the PIN and destroy the letter disclosing the code. n Never let your credit card out of your sight. When you make a payment accompany the sales assistant to the cash register if possible. n Check the amount before you approve a payment with your signature or PIN. n Never disclose your credit card number unnecessarily. You should only do so when making a purchase. Payments made with your credit card chip and PIN are even more secure. Insurance Card Insurance: free travel cover package The Card Insurance gives you three types of insurance for mishaps or emergencies while travelling: n Flight delay insurance If your flight leaves more than four hours late, any expenses you incur for meals will be refunded. n Luggage delay insurance If your luggage arrives at your destination more than four hours late, this insurance covers additional expenses, such as clothing and toilet items. If your luggage has still not arrived after 48 hours, a further payment will be made. n Supplementary traveller s accident insurance In the event of death or certain cases of invalidity resulting from an accident, an additional one-off payment will be made to you, your partner or your children. ABN AMRO Card Insurance applies on condition that you are travelling. A journey commences at the time you have left your home and ends as soon as you are back there. An exception is made for legal assistance, which is only provided if you are outside the Netherlands. Card Support: assistance in the case of emergencies This free service entitles you to assistance and advice in case of unforeseen situations, such as loss or theft of travel and other documents, personal injury, illness or death. ABN AMRO Card Support offers you support in the following situations: n Medical information n Medical transport n Cash advances n Unexpected return to the Netherlands n Repatriation in the event of death n Legal assistance n Visit from the Netherlands n Tracing and rescue If you wish to make a claim under any of these categories or if you would like to receive a copy of the policy conditions, please visit www.abnamro.nl/businesscard You can only benefit from this insurance cover if you pay for the trip and your travel expenses with your credit card. No risk in case of loss or theft If your ABN AMRO Business Card is lost or stolen, you must report this immediately to ABN AMRO Creditcard Services on +31 342-429 004. As soon as you have reported the loss or theft your credit card will be blocked immediately. You are insured against any unauthorised use as soon as you have reported the loss or theft, so that you run no financial risk. If you relocate your old credit card after reporting it lost, it is no longer valid. You should destroy it by cutting through both the chip and the hologram. 16 ABN AMRO Business Card 17
Extras with your ABN AMRO Business Card Quick replacement credit card If you lose your ABN AMRO Business Card while abroad, you can make use of the Emergency Card Replacement Service. You will receive a replacement credit card within 48 hours (depending on the circumstances). This credit card will not have a PIN and will automatically be replaced by an ABN AMRO Business Card after three months. Charges are made for the Emergency Card Replacement Service. Exclusive offers As an ABN AMRO Business Card holder, you will receive regular exclusive offers, specially selected for you. Lifestyle Services: comprehensive support With a single telephone call, all kinds of things will be efficiently arranged for you: n Concert, theatre and restaurant reservations Lifestyle Services can make reservations for you at Dutch restaurants, theatres and concerts. The transactions will be settled via your credit card. n Interpreting and translation service If you need a good interpreter or translator in the Netherlands or abroad, Lifestyle Services can put you in touch with the right people. n Travel Service Lifestyle Services acts as your travel agency before and during your trip. The Lifestyle staff will be pleased to book or change tickets, and obtain information on prices, timetables and connections for you. n Hotel reservations Lifestyle Services can book a hotel for you anywhere in the world using your credit card details.
