Navigator Framework Workspace Displays one or more widgets and the Related Items pane. (In this example, My Information is the name of the home workspace, which is identified by the home icon.) Name / Sign Out Identifies user and a link to log off Time & Attendance. Related Items Pane Includes one or more additional widgets for less common tasks; contains different widgets for each workspace. Widgets A widget is a taskoriented tool or view into Time & Attendance. There is a primary widget. There may be one or more smallersized secondary widgets. Alerts Alerts are links, displayed as graphics, which enable you to quickly view the type and number of tasks and issues that you need to address. Alerts are optional. Carousel The carousel contains one or more workspaces, which you can access. (Note: The carousel is displayed if there is another workspace in addition to the home workspace.) Magnifying Glass icon Allows you to access the Search workspace in which you can search on a wide variety of data types, including employee names, pay rules, jobs, phone numbers, exceptions, and more. Navigating Tips Refresh Click Refresh next to the Alerts toolbar to get immediate updates to your alerts. Alerts Each type of alert has its own icon. A number in the icon s corner indicates items for you to review. Click an alert icon to view alert details. Alert Details Click an item in the details of an alert to open the relevant widget. Navigating Tips (continued) Alert Severity When you click an alert, a detail window is displayed. Depending on the severity of that type of alert, a different graphic appears in the list. Low Displays a blue balloon graphic Medium Displays an exclamation point in an orange triangle High Displays an exclamation point in a red hexagon Workspace Context The workspace context applies to some workspaces and allows you to choose a time period and a set of employees or locations to use in all widgets where they apply. Navigating Tips (continued) Close the Carousel Click Workspaces to close the carousel. Additional Workspaces Click an item in the carousel to open an additional workspace. To close that workspace, hover over its tab and click the Close (X) button. To refresh its data, click the Refresh icon. Cycling the Carousel If the carousel contains more than one workspace, use the arrows to cycle through the additional workspaces. Activating a Widget You can activate a widget from the Related Items pane in two ways. To add a widget to the current workspace, drag the widget out of the pane and release it over a widget in the workspace. To work with the widget in a separate workspace, click the widget while it is still in the pane. To close that workspace, hover its tab and click the Close (X) button. Closing the Related Items Pane Click the right arrow to close the Related Items pane. When closed, click the left arrow to open it. Navigating Tips (continued) Gear Icon Click the gear icon to view the options for moving the widget. Pop-Out Select Pop-Out to promote a secondary widget to a primary position. Resize Bar Click and drag the resize bar to reveal more of a particular secondary widget. Close Select Close to send a secondary widget back to the Related Items pane. Title Bar Move a secondary widget into a primary position by clicking the title bar, dragging it over a primary widget, and releasing. You can also click and drag a secondary widget s title bar to move it to the Related Items pane. Usable Secondary Widgets In most cases, secondary widgets are informational until it is moved to a primary position. However, some widgets, like My Timestamp, function when in the secondary position. Using a Wizard A wizard enables you to complete a single task by guiding you through a sequence of steps. A wizard helps you complete a task quickly, easily, and consistently. Steps Each step in the wizard is identified by its own chevron. Some wizards allow you to click a chevron to go directly to that step. Information (Question Mark) A question mark icon located on the chevron displays helpful information for each step. Click the question mark icon to view the information. To close the information, click the Close (X) button. Next / Done / Clear Click the Next button to advance to advance to the next step. The final step shows either Done or Clear. Click Done or Clear to reset the context and return to the initial step. Previous Button The Previous button allows you to move back to an earlier step in the wizard. Widget or Page Each step in a wizard contains a widget or page that enables you to complete the step. Perform any required tasks and then click Next to continue to the next step. Using the Search Widget Click the magnifying glass icon to access the Search widget. Search Widget Search opens a widget where you can search on a wide variety of data. Go To Button Some widgets include the Go To button. When you need to perform tasks for an individual employee or for a specific group of employees, you can use the Go To button to navigate to another widget or workspace. Hints On / Off Hints On displays searchable topics. Select a topic and view results on the right side of the widget. Hints Off allows you to enter the search criteria in the Search field.
