The mission of this task force is to review care at the end of life in Arizona, to identify strengths and unmet needs, and to make recommendations that provide practical solutions to improve care for this segment of the population. Twenty five physicians representing a broad array of specialties from urban and rural areas and a variety of practice settings, including academic, have volunteered to serve. They will meet monthly and share clinical experiences, review recent literature, consider changing views toward end of life care, and examine recent legislation in California and elsewhere. They may conduct surveys of physicians and the public and will make recommendations to the leadership of AOMA and ArMA regarding policy. We are seeking a nephrologist and an oncologist to join the task force; however, any interested physician who wishes to participate and learn more, please contact Task Force Chair Ron Fischler, M.D. ronfischler@cox.net.
