Short tutorial for the JEP editorial platform Claude Sabbah Managing Editor This tutorial is intended for the Editors of the Journal de l École polytechnique. It explains the basic features of the editorial platform http://jep.math.cnrs.fr The Editors (known as Section Editors on the platform) are not supposed to work much with this platform. They use it mainly for knowing the precise status of the submissions they have been assigned and for sending mails through the platform to the Chief Editor (known as Editor on the platform) in charge of a submission, so that the mails can be stored in the History of the submission. The Chief Editor in charge of a submission will take care of the contacts with the author and the referees, and will discuss each step of the editorial process with the Editor assigned. He (or the Managing Editor in his place) will have various actions on the platform. These actions are stored in the History section of a submission, so that the Editor can have a complete and precise view of the process. The selected Editor for a submission is made aware of it through an initial assignment mail sent by the Chief Editor. In the tutorial below, the Chief Editor is Charles Favre and the Editor is Jacques Hadamard. All email addresses are fake, and the test platform used to produce the tutorial is private, but mimics the true one. The tutorial is presented with the English version of the platform. version is also available. A French
