Incentives of ship registration under Jordanian Flag. 1- Ships flying the Jordanian Flag are not targeted by Port State Control system worldwide. 2- Jordanian Diplomatic missions are spread in more than (43) countries which can facilitate ship registration procedures and provide all information needed. 3- Modern Telecommunications network to facilitate Ship-owners communications and shipping transactions. 4- Specialized surveyors to follow up ships ' technical conditions are available with a dedicated Ship Registration Department within the Jordan Maritime Authority (JMA) to facilitate registration and follow up Ships, requirements. 5- Registration fees are comparatively low and competitive compared with fees of other flag states. 6- Total exemption from customs fees, taxes on fixed assets and other Maritime Transport supplies in accordance with Investment Promotion Law No. (15) for the year 1995 and its amendments. 7- Total exemption from income Tax for shipping management companies registered outside Jordan and wishing to have their ships registered under the Jordanian flag. 8- Benefiting from exemptions on customs fees and other taxes granted for companies based and registered within Aqaba Special Economic Zone.

9- No restrictions on nationality of master, officers or crew. 10- No restrictions or conditions on ownership of ships. 11- Twenty-four hour, seven days a week service in respect of urgent matters related to ship owners interests. 12-10% reduction of berthing fees collected by the Port of Aqaba. 13- Total exemption from anchorage fees provided for in Article (11) of (JMA) Fees Regulation No. (167) for the year 2003 and amendments. 14- Classification societies and P&I Club representatives are available in Jordan. 15- No need for the ship to be registered to be in Aqaba for registration purposes in accordance with Article (18) of the Maritime Commercial Law in force. Required Documents for ship Registration under Jordanian Flag - Original Deletion certificates from previous flag. - Original Bill of sale or certificate of Vessel construction by the builder - Valid transcript of registry by previous flag attesting free from all encumbrances, mortgages and maritime liens, leans taxes & mortgage debts. - Updated Inspection Reports issued by an authorized Class by the JMA. - Jordan Telecommunication regulatory commission license for Radio Station and the call sign for the vessels.

Procedures for ship Registration under Jordanian Flag - Submit all required documents - Designate ship registry number and issue Radiotelegraphy Certificate and call sign. - Conduct flag survey or adopt a classification society ships condition report.(status report ). - Payment of registration fees. - Issue of certificate of Registry within 2 Hours in case of completion of all required documents or issue of a provisional registration certificate for 3 months Ship Registration Fees Under Jordanian Flag FEES EFFECTIVE From 16 November 2003 No Service 1.
