Refer to Figures 1 through 7 for Oil Seal location and general information. 1.2. During maintenance activities, adhere to the following: Tag all shims and spacers at removal, Measure and record thickness to ensure duplication at reassembly. Discard packings, seals and gaskets at removal. New parts are required at reassembly. Place all parts of each subassembly in separate containers for easy reference. Wrap gearshafts, gears, covers and housings in protective cloth to prevent damage. 1.3. As a general practice, salvage all hardware removed during removal of the OEM Oil Seal and retain for re-assembly with Aerometals Oil Seal, depending on condition of removed hardware. Replace removed hardware as required, or as dictated by MDHI instructions.

Remove the Tail Rotor Transmission from helicopter per MDHI Maintenance Manual, CSP-HMI-2, Section 63-25-10, Tail Rotor Transmission (Two and Four Blade) Maintenance Practices. 2.3. Disassemble the Tail Rotor Transmission per MDHI Component Overhaul Manual, CSP-COM-5, Section 63-25-10, Tail Rotor Transmission. 2.4. Remove oil seal from Oil Seal Retainer and discard seal. 3 Installation of Aerometals p/n AM369D25421-5 Oil Seal (Tail Rotor Transmission) 3.1. Refer to Figures 1, 2, 6, and 7. 3.2. Reassemble Tail Rotor Transmission per MDHI Component Overhaul Manual, CSP-COM-5, Section 63-25-10, Tail Rotor Transmission. 3.3. During installation of Oil Seals, apply a light coating of sealing compound per MDHI Component Overhaul Manual. 3.4. Verify correct orientation of oil seal as shown in Figure 6 and 7, and install oil seal into Oil Seal Retainer per MDHI Component Overhaul Manual. 3.5. Reinstall Tail Rotor Transmission per MDHI Maintenance Manual, CSP-HMI-2, Section 63-25-10, Tail Rotor Transmission (Two and Four Blade) Maintenance Practices.

Remove the NOTAR Fan Transmission from helicopter per MDHI Maintenance Manual, CSP-HMI-2, Section 63-25-30, NOTAR Anti-Torque System Fan Transmission Maintenance Practices. 4.3. Disassemble the Fan Transmission per MDHI Component Overhaul Manual, CSP-COM-5, Section 63-25-30, Fan Transmission. 4.4. Remove oil seal from Oil Seal Retainer and discard seal. 5 Installation of Aerometals p/n AM369D25421-5 Oil Seal (NOTAR Fan Transmission) 5.1. Refer to Figures 3 through 7. 5.2. Reassemble NOTAR Fan Transmission per MDHI Component Overhaul Manual, CSP-COM-5, Section 63-25-30, Fan Transmission. 5.3. During installation of Oil Seals, apply a light coating of sealing compound per MDHI Component Overhaul Manual. 5.4. There is no weight and balance impact to the helicopter due to replacement of the OEM p/n 369D25421-5 Oil Seal with Aerometals p/n AM369D25421-5 Oil Seal. 7 Maintenance Procedures 7.1. For model 369D/E/FF, 500N, and 600N helicopters: Continued inspection and maintenance for Aerometals p/n AM369D25421-5 Oil Seals is the same as specified in MDHI Maintenance Manual CSP-HMI-2, Sec. 63-25-10, and 63-25- 30.
