Radio Ocean marine plotters design Ergonomics Connectivity Networking 6
Ergonomics The ergonomic issue The vast majority of plotter installation is made to optimize the readability of display, depriving the easiness of use of keyboard and touch screen which are far away from the user position. Solution: the Remote Keyboard concept A new keyboard has been designed which communicate wirelessly with the plotter. 7
Ergonomics Sleek display + remote keyboard Designed with user friendliness in mind, the new units feature a detachable keyboard that can be used in different ways: 1 Panel mounted in the center console, in a convenient position, easy to reach, while the display can be placed in an higher position, to avoid direct sunlight. 2 Fully portable, keep it in your hands, hanging from your neck or attached to your belt 8
Connectivity The connectivity issue 90% of users use only 30% of the features available in a modern plotter, but they are usually forced to pay for the other 70%. On most of marine plotters there are a multitude of connectors, but majority of users connects only the power cable. Solution: the Quick Disconnect concept A new Quick Disconnect bracket ( QD ) has been designed with a single MultiPin connector and two connection boxes available at the choice of the customer. C-Box 9
Connectivity The Quick Disconnect concept Advantages for the final user Easy and quick Plug the plotter to the powered Quick Disconnect bracket ( QD ) with just one click: it s easy to connect and disconnect. Clean and neat There is just one single Multipole Connector on the bracket, and just one cable coming out of it. Upgrade it at any time Pay just for the connections you need. The system is scalable so that you can add at any time the connections you want. Just buy the desired C-Box upgrade your system. 10
Connectivity Quick Disconnect bracket main features: Waterproof IPX6 Connectors TWS Multipole connector One cable with power + 2 serial not opto-insulated signals 24 pins male connector coupling with the plotter. Supported Connections 2 serial C-Box *Depending on the drivers available in the plotter, specific connection box required 11
Connectivity Accessories: specific connection boxes C-Box 2 serial ports 2 USB ports Video in Ethernet NMEA2000 -Can Bus Power cable + 2 serials TWS Multi-pole connector 12
Connectivity The plotters can be panel mounted using the central part of the Quick Disconnect bracket. 13
Networking The installation and portability issue A network consisting of multiple accessories and a second station plotter typically requires a complex installation and wiring. All traditional plotters are installed in a fixed position. Solution: the C-Box router concept A new hub has been designed for all your connections which communicates with one single cable or wirelessly with your plotter and wirelessly with your portable devices*. *Specific application is required for smartphones, tablets and other portable devices. 14
Networking C-Box Router wireless router connecting all your devices! The Hub for all your connections: connect your engine, AIS, Fish Finder, Radar, GPS receiver etc. to the C-Box Router. The C-Box Router is connected to the plotter via the Quick Disconnect bracket with a single cable or via WiFi where available. Wi Fi connection with second display! At the same time, the C-Box Router can communicate via WiFi with a second display (plotter, tablet, Smartphone etc). Compatible with all AMP plotters Plug n play: connect it to your plotter and it will work without the need of any specific driver. 15
