Test. Analyse. Improve AMERICAN FOOTBALL @ESDlimited www.elitesportdevelopment.com info@elitesportdevelopment.com

2 ELITE SPORT DEVELOPMENT Elite Sport Development is set to revolutionise the way sports players are tested, analysed and developed in their specific sport. Using our state of the art equipment, participants can complete a variety of health, physical and technical related tests with the results being converted into a personal profile for the player. This profile can then be used to highlight strengths and weaknesses in performance with suggested training methods provided via our Training Zone and Development Programmes. Founded in 2013 by two keen sportsmen, one with six years experience playing professional football and the other holding a first class masters degree in engineering, Elite Sport Development is on the verge of pushing technology in sport to the next level. It is clear for anyone to see that over the past 20 years technology has become a major influence in sport and will continue to do so as technology continues to evolve. With several packages available over many sports we are able to cater for anyone who is looking to analyse and improve their performance. By being flexible in how we operate we can tailor test days to the wants and needs of our customers. AMERICAN FOOTBALL The American Football Package takes the services Elite Sport Development provide and makes them relevant for use with American Football teams and organisations. Testing is loosley based on the popular NFL Scouting Combine. By taking part in an Elite Sport Development american football test day players are able to fully assess their characteristics as an american football player. As well as looking at the physical side of the game the testing process also covers several of the most important technical skills that are required when playing competitive american football. By testing both aspects of the game we are able to provide a much more accurate analysis of the player s performance. Testing takes place indoors and can be carried out at any point during the year. A standard form of testing is to have 2-3 testing days spread out over the course of a year. Managers and Players will have access to the Managers Lounge and Athletes Lounge respectively via our website www.elitesportdevelopment.com. This is where all results, score webs and comparison graphs are displayed. The American Football Package has been designed to give players the type of analysis they would experience at professional clubs. Results are highly accurate and can be beneficial in many ways. players are able to fully assess their characteristics as an american football player

TESTING AND EQUIPMENT We test a wide range of health, physical and skill related attributes to give athletes a full understanding of their own sporting capabilities. TIMING GATE SYSTEM We test acceleration, speed and agility using light timing gates, this enables us to remove human error associated with using stop watches, allowing accurate results even over short distances. Using a motion starter as part of the equipment we also accuratley test reaction time. WOBBLE-BOARD SYSTEM Instrumented wobbleboard which enables us to test balance of athletes. Technology within the wobbleboard monitors the tilt and wirelessly emits results to PC software. MULTI-BALL SERVER These state of the art ball servers allow us to provide astonishing consistency when serving balls to athletes which ensures testing is as fair and accurate as possible. Within rugby we use the multi-ball server for the passing accuracy and ball handling tests. JUMP FORCE MAT We test jump height using our jump force mat with handheld computer display. This is an accurate and simple device to use, excellent for athletes of any age or sporting ability. WEIGHTED POWER SLED We use our weighted power sled and artificial surface mat, which provides consistant friction, to measure leg power. 3

LIGHT TESTING SYSTEM The ability to react quicker than an opponent is vital in all sporting scenarios. Using our light testing system and software we have designed a simple but effective test to truly determine how good an athlete s reflexes are. RADAR SPEED GUN Used to test kicking power we set up our radar speed gun in line with our kicking net to give an accurate reading of ball velocity. We also ensure the same balls are used with each test day and the balls are inflated to the same pressure, this is how far we go to ensure reliability of results. We have an array of testing equipment to measure more basic health and physical attributes such as heart rate and weight. Although they are simple attributes to test we do not hold back on quality of equipment ensuring accuracy and reliability of results throughout. The complete list of health, physical and and skill related attributes tested by Elite Sport Development during an american football test day is as follows: > Reaction Time > Acceleration > Speed > Agility > Balance > Jump Height > Driving Power > Upper Body Power > Strength > Reflexes > Flexibility > Ball Handling > Passing Accuracy > Kicking Power > Height > Weight > Heart Rate > Arm Span In testing some of these attributes, we use tests taken directly from the NFL Scouting Combine as follows: > 40-Yard Dash > Vertical Jump > Broad Jump > 3 Cone Drill > Shuttle Run (Revised to 25m) 4

ANALYSIS Once a test day is complete the results are transferred to the Elite Sport Development website where a wide range of data is presented along with several useful features. These are displayed in the Athletes Lounge and Managers Lounge. Having this analysis allows the effectiveness of training to be monitored. allows the effectiveness of training to be monitored ATHLETES LOUNGE The Athletes Lounge is where players can sign in and view the results from any of the test days they have taken part in. They can only ever see their own results. When signed in the athlete will be able to see the hard results from the test day, a score web based on how they compare to everyone of the same age and gender and, for those who are not being tested for the first time, comparison graphs to show any improvements that have been made. The Athletes Lounge has numerous benefits to athletes: Use of technologically advanced equipment that up until now was only affordable by professional clubs. Find strengths and weaknesses in performance. Track results over time to follow development. Nationwide comparison of each skill and attribute against players of the same age and gender. 5

MANAGERS LOUNGE Managers can view the results of all athletes in their team in one easy to read table. Individual attributes can be selected sorting the table in order of results. A Compare Profiles feature can be used to directly compare the results of several athletes from the same team or alternatively can be used to compare the results of the same athlete from numerous testing sessions. There are many benefits to the manager by having the team s results all available in one place: Directly compare attributes of players within a team. Plan training sessions based on team weaknesses. Evaluate whether training is effective by tracking results. Innovative way of motivating players in the team to improve. Results can be used to aid team selection, tactics and playing style. PLAYER DEVELOPMENT After a test day has been completed and results uploaded to the Athletes and Managers Lounges, there are two ways in which athletes can use Elite Sport Development s services to help them improve their game: Use our Training Zone (included with all test packages) to assist training. Join an ESD Development Programme. 6

DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME The Development Programme aims to improve an athlete s physical attributes. This, in conjunction with an athlete s standard training, will lead to greater improvements in performance. Programmes will typically last between 6 and 8 weeks and will consist of one session per week. At the end of every session players are given a home programme to take away and complete in their own time to assist the development phase. Testing will take place on the first session of every Development Programme. This testing process is repeated again during the last session so that players can view any improvements made over the course of the programme. General attributes have been grouped together by relevance and similar training techniques to give 4 general Development Programmes. Speed, Agility and Acceleration. Strength and Power. Balance, Flexibility and Coordination. Muscular and CV Endurance. TRAINING ZONE The Training Zone is an archive of training videos accessible via www.elitesportdevelopment.com that can be used to assist both athlete and coach development. Athletes can use the material outside of team training hours to help improve their performance. Coaches can also use the videos to help plan suitable and effective training sessions based on their players needs. All videos are easy to follow and contain no advertisements making them user friendly. SAFETY & SECURITY Elite Sport Development is a registered limited company operating in the UK.
