Opening of the carpal tunnel can often be prevented by using a Tendon Retriever. The double action construction of this instrument is of particular importance. In its closed position, this thin instrument with rounded tips is easily passed through a narrow tunnel. The shanks spread minimally while opening the jaws to engage the tendon. / 0-524 Tendon Passing Probe, with eye and groove, malleable, 2.8 mm diameter, 200 mm (8 ). In very limited space, or where the canal curves strongly, the use of a Tendon Passing Probe instead of a tendon retrieving forceps may be indicated. A suture is put through the tendon stump, inserted through the eye of the probe and tied.
