Numerous fungal ganisms can infect ripening fruit. Captan has a broad spectrum control f several of the fungi in the summer bunch rot complex, however if fruit splits due to excess rain, a fungicide is not very helpful as much of the rot in damaged fruit is bacterial in nature. Pristine also provides general control of bunch rot and botrytis at the high labeled rate (23oz). 30 days pre-harvest Bunch rots Low Disease Pressure to harvest Downy mildew No spray Captec 4L + Rampart Rampart Post-harvest Downy mildew Dithane F45 2.5qt (2qt) + ( 2.15pt/50 gal water) 2.15pt/50 gal water Check pre harvest interval (PHI) f all products. Follow all labeled restrictions. Captec/Captan residue on grapes may cause problems with sluggish stuck fermentation in the winery. Use of Captec within 30 days of harvest should be communicated with the winemaker. Post harvest sprays are imptant if wet weather follows harvest. Downy mildew can cause severe pre mature defoliation of vines. Inexpensive protectant fungicides with low resistance risk f downy mildew are best options. Do not spray me than the labeled maximum/acre/product/season. Disclaimer This document provides examples of common fungicides and insecticides registered f grapes. Changes in pesticide regulations occur constantly and human err are possible. Questions concerning the legality and/ regulation status f pesticide use should be directed to the appropriate Extension Agent/Specialist state regulaty agency. Read the label befe applying any pesticide. The label is the law. Westover Vineyard Advising, LLC and its employees assume no responsibility f the effectiveness results of any chemical pesticide usage. No endsements of products are made n implied, n does the lack of mention of any product imply inefficacy. This example spray guide is intended to assist clients of Westover Vineyard Advising in the process of constructing a grape spray program and does not replace the need to keep up with current seasonal conditions and changes in pesticide regulations. Use of this document will be me effective if supplemented with regular input and to communication with your viticulture advis.
