Mother Goose Rhyme Time is a special program for children 12-24 months and a caregiver held on Tuesday mornings at 10:15 a.m. at Blue Valley Neighborhood Library. This is time to introduce children to the joys of language and literature through rhymes, fingerplays and musical activities. Young children will enjoy the repetition and physical activity involved. Mother Goose Rhyme Time lasts approximately 20 minutes after which there is an opportunity for you and your child to share a special playtime with toys selected specifically for this group. Please try to be on time. Encourage your child to participate with you, but do not be upset if he/she chooses to watch, especially at first. If your child becomes disruptive, feel free to step outside the meeting room and then return when he/she is ready. Siblings are welcome and may bring a doll or stuffed animal, if they wish. (suit actions to words) MOTHER S KNIVES AND FORKS These are Mother s knives and forks, (fingers interlace, tips up) This is Mother s table. (flatten hands and arms) This is Mother s looking glass (palms toward face) And this is baby s cradle. (palms up, rock arms) HERE IS THE BEEHIVE Here is the beehive, where are the bees? (make fist with hand) Hidden away where nobody sees. (cover fist with other hand) Watch and you ll see them come out of the hive. (look closely at hand) One, two, three, four, five. BZZZZZ.
