EXPEDITION For your Expedition section, a group of you will need to plan, train for and complete a remotely supervised, self-reliant expedition with an agreed aim. You must do the correct training for your level and mode of travel, do at least one practice expedition, a qualifying expedition, and a final presentation in order to complete the section. Access Outdoor Adventure offer training for practice and qualifying walking expeditions. Please note: You must be available for all training dates. We ask you to sign a form to confirm that you will be available. Absence from any training or expedition because of any other commitments is not acceptable. Absences from school immediately following all expeditions will be deemed unauthorised as you are expected to be able to cope with the demands of the expedition alongside your school commitments. You are responsible for managing your time; this is one of the challenges of the Award and is a reason why it is highly valued by employers. Other types of expeditions such as cycling, canoeing and horse riding are all possible ventures under the DofE Award but you would have to find an alternative provider for these activities. (See the DofE website for suggestions of Approved Activity Providers). There are 20 conditions all Expeditions must meet. These are what your expedition team will be assessed against. - Click on and read all the conditions and then write down these specific ones: 1 6 8 10 14 20
