SET-UP AND SAFETY ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 7 The device is designed for the playback of audio signals. Any other use is expressly prohibited. 7 Protect the device from moisture (water drops or splashes). 7 Do not place any vessels such as vases on the device. These may be knocked over and spill fluid on the electrical components, thus presenting a safety risk. 7 Do not place any naked flames such as candles on the device. 7 Only use the device in a moderate climate. 7 Do not cover the ventilation slots with newspapers, table cloths, curtains, etc. 7 When deciding where to place the device, please note that furniture surfaces are covered by various types of varnish and plastic, most of which contain chemical additives. These additives can corrode the device supports, leaving residues on the furniture surfaces which can be difficult or impossible to remove. 7 Do not use any cleaning agent, as this may damage the casing. POWER SUPPLY ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Insert back-up battery The back-up batteries ensures that the stored settings are not lost in the case of a power failure. 1 Open the battery compartment by pressing the area market and pushing down the cover. 2 Observe the polarity marked on the base of the battery compartment when inserting the batteries (micro batteries, 2 x 1.5 V, LR3/ UM 4/ AAA). 3 Close the battery compartment. Mains operation Check that the mains voltage on the type plate corresponds to your local mains supply. If this is not the case, contact your specialist dealer. 1 Plug the power adapter into the wall socket. OVERVIEW ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ON/OFF ALARM TUN+/HR PRESET+ VOLUME + DIMMER HI/LOW SET/TIME Switches the appliance on from stand-by; switches the appliance to standby. Active: Switches off the alarm for this day. Press and hold down: Activates the alarm time settings for alarm. press briefly to confirm settings and select the sound source. In FM mode: Press and hold to start the automatic search; press it quickly to move the frequency forwards in steps. In Stand-by mode: To set the hours of the time and alarm time. Choose program places. Increase the volume. To set the brightness of the display. In FM mode: Activates the memory function for program places and stores FM programs. In Stand-by mode: Press and hold down to activate the time setting. TUN /MIN PRESET VOLUME ANTENNA In FM mode: Press and hold to start the automatic search; press it quickly to move the frequency backwards in steps. In Stand-by mode: To set the minutes of the time and alarm time. Choose program places. Reduce the volume. Wire antenna for FM reception. 5V > 0,55A Cable for the power adapter (5 V > 0,55 A). SNOOZE O Interrupts the alarm signal. Activates the sleep timer; select the time for the sleep timer. e BATTERY Light display; the alarm standby for sound source radio station (» «) or buzzer (»e «) is activated. Battery compartment for the back-up battery 7 : 30 Shows the time, the alarm time, and the sleep timer time; shows the frequency and the set volume. 6

RADIO MODE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Antenna For the best FM (UHF) reception it is suffcient to align the wire antenna accordingly. Switching on/off 1 Switch the device from standby with»on/ OFF«. 2 Switch the device to standby with»on/off«. Searching for and saving radio stations automatically You can store 10 radio stations on presets. 1 Activate the station search by pressing»tun+/ HR«or»TUN /MIN«until the frequency display changes to rapid runthrough. The search stops when a station is found. Note: 7 To move the frequency forward in steps, briefly press»tun+/hr«or»tun /MIN«several times. The frequency changes in steps of 50 khz, 100 khz are shown; at 50 khz the last digit of the particular frequency indicator flashes briefly. 2 Press»SET/TIME«to activate the memory function. 3 Select the preset with»preset+«or»preset «. 4 Press»SET/TIME«to save the station. Note: 7 If stations are already stored on the presets, they are overwritten when new stations are stored. 5 To store more stations, repeat steps 1 to 4. Alarm mode Setting the alarm time Note: 7 The time must be correctly set. 1 Switch the device to standby with»on/off«. 2 Press and hold»alarm«for two seconds. 3 Press»TUN+/HR«to set the hours. 4 Press»TUN /MIN«to set the minutes. 5 Press»ALARM«to confirm the setting. 6 Press briefly»alarm«to select the desired sound source radio station (» «) or buzzer «). The device wakes you up at the set time, the alarm duration is 59 minutes. (»e Interrupting the alarm 1 Press»SNOOZE O«while the alarm is sound. The alarm signal (radio station or signal) stops.
