I would like to encourage you to complete these forms, not only for our benefit, but for yours - this claim could be worth up to three or four thousand pounds to you. By selecting Magnum Claims you are already one step closer to claiming this compensation. We estimate that many people are TIME BARRED from making a claim EACH WEEK because they didn t act quickly enough. Please make sure you are not one of them by returning these forms using the FREEPOST envelope within 7 days of receipt. The forms which all need to be signed include: 1. Authorities this lets us consult with the bank on your behalf. We require one Letter of Authority per claim, so if you have 3 PPI claims we will have included 3 Letters of Authority for you to complete. 2. Letter of Engagement this is to show you have accepted our terms and conditions (please find our Terms & Conditions enclosed). Service Charges The Company s service charge in regards to claims under i) and ii) within the services section is 30% of the amount of compensation/total monetary benefit plus VAT. For example, if Magnum Claims is successful in obtaining compensation of 800, the service charge applicable would be 240 + VAT = 288. The customer would receive 512. Did the Agent advise you to take out Payment Protection Insurance? Were you told the Payment Protection Insurance was compulsory in order to obtain the loan? If you were unemployed/self-employed or soon to become so, did you make the advisor aware of this? Were you asked if you had any pre-existing medical conditions? Did you suffer from stress and/or back problems at the time of taking the insurance? Were you asked whether you had any existing suitable arrangements in place to cover redundancy, accident or illness? Was the cost of the policy fully explained to you at the time of the sale? Was it made clear that the Payment Protection Insurance would not run for the full term of the loan? Were you aware that commission would be paid to the company which sold you the product? Were you made aware that you could potentially get a similar policy on the open market for a lower premium? Was it made clear to you that the Payment Protection Policy was optional? FEES EXAMPLE Example 1: All compensation is cash in hand You are awarded 3,000 compensation. From this compensation payment you will be charged a fee of 30% ( 900) by us. You will also pay VAT at 20% ( 180), making the total bill you will pay to us as 1080. You will receive a compensation payment of 1920. Example 2: Compensation includes cash in hand award with loan and future instalment reduction You are awarded 3,000 compensation. 1500 of this award will be deducted from the outstanding balance on your loan. You will be charged a fee of 30% ( 900) by us. You will also pay VAT at 20% ( 180), making the total bill you will pay to us as 1080. You will receive a compensation payment of 420 and a reduction of 1,500 off future loan repayments. Example 3: Compensation is used to offset arrears consumer has on credit card or loan You are awarded 3,000 compensation. The whole sum of this award ( 3,000) will be deducted from the outstanding balance on your loan. You will be charged a fee of 30% (900) by us. You will also pay VAT at 20% ( 180), making the total bill you pay as 1080. You will receive no cash payment however your future loan repayments will be reduced by 3,000.
