GRAND NATIONAL Equipment: 4 rows of markers spaced 5 metres apart; 1 chipper; 1 launch pad; 3 balls GAME: chip the ball past the first line of markers so the ball lands/stops between the first line and the second line. (the markers in line are the Grand National fences) Each pupil takes a turn at chipping the 3 balls to stop between the 1 st and 2 nd line of markers. Then they chip their next 3 balls to stop between the 2 nd and 3 rd row of markers. Their next turn if there is time is to chip the balls to land between the 3 rd & last line of markers. TEAM GAMES Change some firstclubgolf games to Team Games For most of the games listed below group the pupils into teams of 4 or 5. You should have the pupil that is performing the activity standing well in front on the other team pupils who are in a safety zone. When having to run and collect balls and return the for the next pupil leave the putter/club on the floor. Next pupils is not allowed to leave the safety zone until the previous pupil touches hands. Team Games Tunnel Putting Boules Finders Keepers Chipping to Davies Wall target

BOULES Equipment: 1 launch pad; 3 balls; 3 footballs as targets. GAME: chip the 3 balls in turn and try and hit a football. 10 points for hitting a ball 5 points for landing 1 club length from a football (make the game easier by using 4 footballs as targets) FINDERS KEEPERS Equipment: 1 launch pad; 1 chipper; 3 balls; 3 footballs as targets. GAME: Scatter markers approx 5 7 metres from the putting marker. The aim of the game is for pupil putting to putt and hit some of the markers that are scattered. Each marker that is hit by a ball that is putted is collected by the pupil when they finish putting their 3 balls.

PARACHUTE PUTTING Equipment: parachute; 1 sticky; 3 putters; 3 balls GAME: each pupil has a putter and a ball. They space out with each pupil standing on a red sector. They putt from the red sectors only. They putt until they hit the sticky, counting the total number of putts taken. They move round the parachute anti-clockwise. Continue to count the total number of putts being taken. Stop once everyone has putted form each red sector. EXTRA PUPILS OBSERVE or COUNT PUTTS CHIP OVER BENCHES Equipment: If space allows have 2 or 3 stations. For each activity station; 1 chipper; 1 launch pad; 3 balls; make a rectangle with benches; use a sticky target or Velcro snageroo GAME: Chip each ball over the bench into the landing area. 10 pts for each chip that lands in the area. 10 extra points if the ball lands on the sticky target. You can introduce scoring for beginners so they have more success, e.g. if they hit the back/side walls or the bench and ball still goes into the landing area they get ½ points.

TRAFFIC LIGHTS PUTTING Equipment: 1 putter; 3 balls; 3 markers (green, yellow, red); 1 snageroo GAME: start putting with the 3 balls from the red marker. Set a scoring target of 15 points and for their next turn they move further away to the yellow marker. If they score 15 points or more again they move back to the green marker for their 3 rd turn. BULLSEYE CHIPPING Equipment: 1 launch pad; 1 chipping club; 3 balls; 1 bullseye target; 1 chair GAME: place the bullseye target over the back of the chair. Place the launch pad approx 4 to 6 metres from the bullseye target. Count your score for 3 balls. Highest score for 3 balls wins. OTHER PUPILS FACE THE PUPIL PUTTING

GAME: If space allows place the launcher pads 6 8 metres from target. Chip to the target which has points allocated to each colour of the bullseye target. Total points for 5 velcro points.
