OUR STORY 32 Years of Napa Valley Winemaking Peju winery founded in 1983 Tony & Herta Peju Entrepreneurs and immigrants Successful floral business in LA area Wanted to raise their young family in wine country Small family-run business Very small production of a few thousand cases Wines sold primarily cellar door and wine club Expanded into wholesale distribution in the late 1990s Three generations farming the land Rutherford Estate Vineyard 30 acres planted, originally to Cabernet Sauvignon and French Colombard Tony Peju planted Merlot and Cabernet Franc First wine produced: 1982 Cabernet Sauvignon already in barrel when property was purchased

ESTATE VINEYARDS Persephone Vineyard, Pope Valley Persephone Vineyard Situated in northeast Napa Valley, eastern side of Howell Mountain and the Vaca Range 900 ft. elevation, loamy shale soils and very little rainfall (less than half that of Rutherford) Tony Peju named the vineyard Persephone after the goddess of Greek Mythology. The climate in Pope Valley produces focused, mountain fruit flavors which yield wines of great complexity and concentration. Experience Persephone Ranch Wine Amongst the Vines Travel to Persephone Ranch Guests are invited to venture with us through the steep canyons and winding roads to our Pope Valley vineyards. Cattle ranches and ancient oaks still cover rolling foothills watched over by craggy mountain peaks. The region has been producing wine and wine grapes since the turn of the last century. Tasting and Luncheon Gather under the shade of ancient oak trees in the natural picnic terrace, to experience a tasting of Peju and Tess wines. While in this majestic setting, guests will enjoy tours through the vines and learn about farming practices, viticulture and vineyard management. Peju Chef Alex Espinoza will prepare seasonal Napa Valley fare to enhance the tasting and vineyard experience.

Interactive Culinary Experiences Aprons On! Discover the flavors of Peju sip, sample, chop, peel, and most of all, have fun during our interactive, culinary experiences led by Executive Chef Alex Espinoza in the Peju Kitchen. The Farm to Table cooking experience will be focused on regional flavors and ingredients sourced from small, local producers. The cooking showcases simple techniques that will serve you well in your own kitchen at home. After prepping lunch with Chef, hang up your apron and enjoy a private tasting of Peju wines accompanied by local artisan cheeses in our famous Tasting Tower. Guests will then move back to the Peju Kitchen for a three-course luncheon, perfectly paired with tastes from our cellar.

Wine and Cheese Food and Wine Pairing Enjoy a guided tour of our beautiful gardens, the HB vineyard and our wine production areas. Move upstairs to the barrel lounge and art gallery to explore the flavors of Peju wines featuring Merlot, Cabernet and special proprietary blends. While we present these Peju favorites guests will enjoy samples of local olive oils, mustards, cheese and chocolates. This exploration of flavor offers guests a wonderful taste of Napa Valley in the heart of Rutherford.
