EMPLOYMENT BASED POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMME Researcher is an employee of the Employment Partner and based primarily on Employment Partner premises (50% - 70% of time) Researcher is registered as a Postgraduate student with Irish HEI and is a full time student working full time on the research 1 HEI fees only covered up to 5,750 per annum regardless of whether EU or non-eu

ENTERPRISE COMMITTMENT Employment of the researcher for duration of Award, (12m/24m/36m/48m) Capacity to provide mentoring and professional guidance to the individual researcher (Employment Mentor) Employ researcher for full duration of degree and host them 50-70% of time with access to experimental facilities or data Sign an IP agreement with the Irish Higher Education Institution

Enterprise COSTS Irish Research Council gives HEI 24,000 which includes: Enterprise: - 16,000 contribution to salary to be paid to Employment Partner - Fees to max. 5,750 pa - Research Expenses to max. 2,250 pa - Min 8,000 pa or minimum graduate entry level

ELEVATE POSTDOCTORAL PROGRAMME Encouraging international and inter-sectoral mobility > insight into business aspects of research and innovation Facilitate research collaboration, knowledge transfer and networking between Irish based HEIs and international host Years 1 & 2: Fellow based in Higher Education Institution (HEI) or Enterprise Partner outside of Ireland Year 3: Fellow based in Irish HEI maintaining link to international HEI or Enterprise Partner Project is agreed between HEI and international host and IP agreement signed at start

Enterprise COSTS 40% EU Commission funding; 30% IRC funding; 30% Host Enterprise Partner funding Individually calculated according to personal circumstances of researcher (country going to, family etc) 58,500 base rate and country coefficients applied: For example estimate total of 88,977 pa all inclusive 1 Pay over 3 years = 29,659 pa cost to Enterprise Partner Pay over 2 years = 44,500 pa cost to Enterprise Partner 1 including PRSI, pension, ave. mobility allowance of 10,980, direct costs of 9,600 and contribution to HEI overheads of 3,130 pa

RESEARCHER ELIGIBILITY FOR ELEVATE Be an Experienced Researcher (ER) of any nationality (e.g. hold a PhD or have 4 years full-time equivalent research experience) Be a resident of an EU or Associated Country - who is currently living in Ireland but does not have to be an Irish citizen Have been an ER for no more than 5 years (career breaks of up to 5 years are taken into account) Have spent no more than 40% of his/her time during their ER career period carrying out research outside Ireland
