Witch Leenu In the Strawberry Forest Characters: Storyteller Witch Leenu Eye-Siiri, surname Sense Ear-Kalle, surname Sense Nose-Nils, surname Sense Tongue-Kelli, surname Sense Touch-Kaarel, surname Sense Action takes place in the woods. You can see ripe strawberries, from time to time, you hear birds singing and cuckoo calls. The weak witch sits unhappily on the old, big stump and strokes the worn-out broomstick. Storyteller: Witch Leenu is sitting very sad in the forest, on a big stump today. She has already ridden through the world on a broom for 1000 years and she has made all kinds of tricks. Now she is old, has forgotten all the wisdoms, her eyes and ears are weak, and she does not understand what is going on around. Witch Leenu: I would like to eat strawberries, but I do not understand, if berries are already ripe! Eye-Siiri approaches. Eye-Siiri: Hello, auntie! Why are you so sad? We are in the forest full of lovely, red strawberries. Witch Leenu: I do not see any berries. But who are you? Eye-Siiri: I am Eye-Siiri, my surname is Sense. I am the one who helps all living beings to see. Look very carefully, the ground is red from strawberries underneath the leaves! Witch Leenu: I think I see something. Should I eat them? Nose-Nils approaches. Nose-Nils: Wait, wait, I will help you! Witch Leenu: Wonderful! The forest is full of helpers! Who are you? Nose-Nils: I am Nose-Nils, my surname is Sense. I think it is not so important to see these berries. You have to smell them, smell quickly and you will find out, if the berries are ripe. Witch Leenu smells and says: It is true! What a nice smell. Now I will eat them! Tongue-Kelli approaches. Tongue-Kelli: Hello! Hello! Put the berry into your mouth, you will know, if it is ripe! Witch Leenu: Here is another helper! What are you doing here? Tongue-Kelli: I am Tongue-Kelli, my surname is Sense. My sister and brother gave you some suggestions, but my advice is the most important one: put the berry into your mouth!!! Eye-Siiri and Nose-Nils together: No! No! No! Do not put anything into your mouth before you have not looked at and smelled it! Otherwise you eat raw berries and your stomach begins to ache! Storyteller: Witch Leenu discovers another helper. He also wants to teach the witch. Touch-Kaarel: I am Touch-Kaarel, my surname is Sense. I help you if it is very dark and you cannot see the berries. Take the berry and touch it with your fingers. If the berry is soft, it is ripe and you can put it into your mouth. The tough berry should still ripen. Witch Leenu: All the four children of the Sense family are so smart!
Tongue-Kelli: We have another brother. Look, here he is. Ear-Kalle approaches. Ear-Kalle: Hello, Witch Leenu! I am Ear-Kalle, my surname is Sense. I would like to ask you when you last heard cuckoo calling? Witch Leenu: My child, I honestly do not remember. Ear-Kalle: I can help you. You hear cuckoo calls. Witch Leenu: How beautiful! Youth comes to my mind! The whole Sense family together: Is this a person or a bird or a butterfly, a dog or a cat or an earthworm perhaps a wild animal or a witch family Sense is always on its way to them. Eye-Siiri shows everything, Ear-Kalle hears everything, Nose-Nils smells everything, Tongue-Kelli tastes everything, Touch-Kaarel touches everything. Storyteller: Witch Leenu is now in a better mood and her senses work again. However, such things happen only in fairy tales. In real life we have to take care for our senses, because they will not always remain strong witchcraft or magic words do not work. You have to take care of yourself and your senses.
