Strategic Goals 1. Student Success Maximize and expand the use of technology to promote student success. a. Provide assistance in making data driven student success decisions by increasing the College s utilization with key reporting systems. b. Increase the student s utilization with key systems by improving their satisfaction with these systems. 2. People Create a culture in which faculty and staff can innovate, improve quality and improve efficiency through the availability of technology and training. a. Define and implement a comprehensive strategy for collecting, reviewing, appropriately funding, and deploying technology solutions that properly align with the College s mission and strategic initiatives. b. Improve the efficient use of technology by defining, appropriately funding, and implementing a comprehensive training strategy for key College systems. 3. Technology and Access Expand access by providing quality and state of the art technology in all College facilities to support the College s institutional vision. a. Define, appropriately fund, and implement a comprehensive wireless platform strategy so that online resources are readily available. b. Define, appropriately fund, and implement a comprehensive internet access management strategy so that the College can plan for and manage the internet connection growth. c. Define, appropriately fund, and implement a comprehensive life-cycle management plan that aligns with industry standard practices for all technology hardware. d. Define, appropriately fund, and implement a comprehensive Bring-Your-Own Device (BYOD) strategy to help provide flexible access to the College s electronic resources. e. Increase the faculty and the administrations usability with key systems by improving their satisfaction for these systems. f. Define, appropriately fund, and implement a comprehensive Cloud Strategy to manage the transitioning of various technology services. g. Define, appropriately fund, and implement a comprehensive Mobile Strategy to manage the transitioning of various technology services. h. Define, appropriately fund, and implement a comprehensive networking infrastructure strategy to help coordinate efforts across various support departments and to meet the College s future needs. 4. Funding - Provide adequate funding and resources to ensure quality technology and access. a. Define and implement a comprehensive three year balanced IT budget that aligns with the College s planning process and strategic initiatives so growth of IT can be managed and appropriate funding identified. b. Define and implement a comprehensive strategy to seek out additional funding opportunities for initiatives involving technology to help address the College s future IT needs. 5. Process and Policies Develop and implement an inclusive governance structure for IT decision making that incorporates prioritization of initiatives and opportunity for feedback a. Define and implement a comprehensive IT Council team to provide assistance in the direction setting for the College s use of technology. b. Define and implement a comprehensive IT guideline management strategy to help manage the expectations for technology use. c. Transition the delivery of IT to an industry standard service delivery model (i.e. ITIL and COBIT) to increase efficiencies and customer satisfaction. d. Define and implement a comprehensive IT initiative management strategy to allow proper alignment between IT initiatives and the College s strategic priorities. e. Define and implement a comprehensive IT Security Strategy to help safeguard the College s electronic information. 6. Communication Leverage technology to strengthen communication with the College s internal and external stakeholders. a. Define, appropriately fund, and implement a comprehensive website management strategy to enhance the focus on student recruitment, retention and success. b. Define, appropriately fund, and implement a comprehensive portal management strategy to enhance the longterm focus on increasing student retention and communication within the College community.
