certification process according to ISO 17024 The candidates are learning in a real project at work using a concrete use work order. They document the procedure after concrete requirements, the so-called reference process. The reference process shows, which steps occur in a project and which competence is required and how it has to be gained. Usually six months after beginning the candidate presents his project followed by an interview with an examiner of Cert-IT www.cert-it.com 9

ITIL ITIL is the most widely adopted approach for IT Service Management in the world. It provides a practical, nononsense framework for identifying, planning, delivering and supporting IT services to the business. The certification is provided by the ITIL qualification scheme which is a modular approach with the Foundation, Intermediate and Expert Level. Cert-IT as one of 10 worldwide acting Examination Institutes (EI), certifies Candidates, who qualified in ITIL. As an accredited Examination Institute (EI) Cert-IT certifies also training organizations (ATO) and their trainers to provide training in ITIL. www.cert-it.com 11
Certification of ATOs and trainers Only ATOs and their authorised affiliates have licences to offer training courses that incorporate official OGC trademarks, brands and copyright material. These ATOs have been fully accredited by an approved Examination Institute. The accreditation process involves a rigorous assessment of the organisation's management systems, course materials and trainers, assuring the quality of training provided. Organisations offering training who are not accredited by an approved Examination Institute may be in breach of Intellectual Property law. www.cert-it.com 12

ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level The Foundation Level course teaches the basics of software testing. Target group: Anyone engaged in the development, testing or approval of software systems. ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level Entry Requirements for this Qualification The entry criterion for taking the ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing examination is that candidates have an interest in software testing. However, it is strongly recommended that candidates also: Have at least a minimal background in either software development or software testing, such as six months experience as a system or user acceptance tester or as a software developer Take a course that has been accredited to ISTQB standards (by one of the ISTQB-recognized National Boards). Holders of the Foundation Certificate will be able to go on to a higher-level software testing qualification. www.cert-it.com 20
ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level The Advanced Level expands on knowledge gained in the Foundation Level. It is divided into three categories: Test Manager Test Analyst Technical Test Analyst Participants may write a formal examination after completing any module. Prerequisites required for admission to an Advanced Level module examination are at least the Foundation Level Certificate at the point of AL module completion and proof of at least 18 months practical testing experience.
