Let s Make Some Trades Together! Published by Option Alpha. All Rights Reserved.

About This Guide With a Premium Membership you ll have access to our daily trading alerts which are linked directly with my personal brokerage account at thinkorswim from TDAmeritrade. Every single time I make any trade (opening, closing, earnings, or hedge) we ll send out an alert automatically to you. Since the trade confirmations can sometimes be a little hard to understand unless you speak option orders I wanted to put together this quick guide to help you breakdown the alerts with tons of examples. You can also watch this video tutorial >> CLICK HERE << Feel free to print and use this guide as you get started learning how our trading system works. It might take a couple trades to get used to the process but as always, if you have questions along the way please let me know so that I can make sure you are on the right track! ~ Kirk Du Plessis (Founder, Head Trader) Published by Option Alpha. All Rights Reserved.

The 4 Main Types There are four main types of trade alerts we ll send out to our members which include the following: 1. Opening Trades These trades are completely new positions that you can follow immediately. Remember to scale down your position size if needed. We recommend new positions are 1-5% max risk per trade based on your account size. Because these are opening positions, we did not previously have a trade on in the referenced stock. However it s important to realize that we can have both SELL TO OPEN and BUY TO OPEN orders. 2. Earnings Trades These are shorter term trades focused specifically on profiting from the IV crush that happens after a company announces earnings. Because these trades do require quicker reaction both pre-earnings and post-earnings, we only suggest these trades if you have the available time to trade during the market open and close.

3. Hedge Trades Often times throughout the month we ll have trades that move against us which triggers an adjustment or hedge to the position. These trades can sometimes be either opening or closing trades on certain strike prices around the original position. We suggest you do NOT copy these unless you had the original position. These are not stand-alone trades. For more on adjustment strategies and tactics please see our trade adjustment video tutorial section. 4. Closing Trades These are trades that we have completely exited for either a profit or loss. Clearly, you should not initiate the closing order unless you had the original opening position. As we get closer to expiration we will always alert you on any open trades that will be closed, rolled or adjusted. So, if you don t see an alert from us to close a position then that means we still have it open and working. Rest assured, we ll never leave you hanging - promise!

Alert Framework Each trading alert that we send out carries a consistent framework to follow as described below: Type: Open/Earnings/Close/Hedge Side: Selling or Buying #Contracts: The # of Contracts or Strategies Traded. Strategy: Iron Condor, Calendar, Vertical, etc. Stock: Ticker Symbol of Security Expiration Month: JAN, FEB, MAR, APR - DEC Strikes: Exact Strikes & Either CALLS/PUTS Price: Amount Paid (Debit) or Received (Credit) Once you become familiar with how they are setup and what each part means, you ll be able to easily follow the trades in your own account. Now, let s use the following pages to go through a bunch of different examples so you are 100% confidence in how our alerts can work for you.
