TURBO-DR Refrigerated Dryers Built on Reliability ngersoll Rand s line of TURBO-DR refrigerated dryers provide dew-pointcontrolled compressed air with reliable consistency you can count on. They provide the confidence you demand, while guarding against system corrosion and protecting downstream tools, instruments, products and processes at a low cost of ownership. Superior Heat Transfer at Work At the heart of TURBO-DR refrigerated dryers is our patented high-efficiency heat exchanger. This reduces compressor run time, which lowers energy costs. lean, Dry Air in All Operating onditions Non-cycling models dry air reliably and affordably, with a minimal capital investment. The cycling model design adds a thermal mass storage tank that permits the refrigeration unit to shut down during low heat loads. This feature enables the cycling model to deliver long-term operational savings. Patented multi-layer bar- and plate-type aluminum exchanger designed with advanced computer analytics provides up to 0% lower pressure drop than competitive products Both the cycling and non-cycling models offer multiple design features that enable peak throughput with low pressure drop, high-heat-transfer efficiency and trouble-free, non-fouling operation. Large surface area increases efficiency and superior thermal exchange for stable SO lass 4 performance ntegrated separator with low velocity quiet zone and integrated stainless steel mesh enables 99% condensate removal Fully insulated and sealed enclosure eliminates moisture formation on exterior housing under design conditions Burst tested to exceed x rated pressure Low ost of Ownership Our TURBO-DR refrigerated dryer design provides the air quality and throughput you need while reducing energy consumption, installation time and maintenance. Low pressure drop cycling units average less than 0.2 barg ompact footprint lectronic, no-loss condensate drain nergy-efficient and environmentally friendly refrigerants Reliable construction featuring corrosion resistant materials and fewer moving parts Simplified installation with single-point connections 2 3

Designed to Maximize fficiency ntelligent ontrol How Refrigerated Dryers Work The easy-to-use TURBO-DR controller automatically manages dryer operation for optimum air treatment and energy efficiency. TURBO-DR refrigerated dryers use centrifugal separation to remove moisture at the coldest point in the system. As the air stream is cooled in the aluminium heat exchanger, moisture from the air stream condenses and is discharged through an electronic no-loss drain. The result is highly efficient moisture removal and exceptionally dry, clean air. Microprocessor ontroller n the cycling dryer design, a thermal mass storage reservoir is added to the refrigeration circuit. This enables the compressor to cycle off for energy savings during periods of reduced load. The dryer circuit continues using the stored coolant to remove moisture from the compressed air. ycling Refrigerated Dryers 1 Moist compressed air enters the dryer through the heat exchanger 1 8 2 2 Air is initially cooled by cold, outgoing air in the aluminum pre-cooler/re-heater 3 The refrigerant gas/glycol maintains a consistent dew point to efficiently cool compressed air 4 ycling dryers use a glycol thermal mass, cold energy storage circuit, reducing compressor run time saving energy 3 4 n non-cycling dryers, the refrigerant compressor continuously runs to maintain coolant at the proper temperature; in cycling dryers, it runs only as needed to cool the glycol mass 7 Non-ycling Refrigerated Dryers ondenser 7 ondensed liquid is efficiently removed through a moisture separator asy to use with integrated keypad and backlit LD to view dryer parameters and percentage of energy savings (cycling dryers) Microprocessor constantly monitors dryer functions, including thermal mass temperature (cycling dryers) and provides alarms to minimize dryer downtime Optional MODBUS-compatible RS232/48 communication port enables remote start/stop and remote alarm contact 8 1 8 2 9 Dry air exits the system n non-cycling dryers, the hotgas bypass valve allows for stable refrigeration circuit operation during low demand periods 9 Dryer restarts automatically in the event of a sudden loss of power Adjustable chiller temperature set point and digital temperature display ensures optimal dryer performance, reducing energy use nergy savings is available at the touch of a button (cycling dryers) 3 Dedicated buttons enable convenient adjustment of solenoid drain timing and drain function test Advanced diagnostic memory includes failure code storage 7 4

Performance-Driven Benefits The nergy fficiency of ycling Dryers TURBO-DR refrigerated dryers deliver the performance you need for greater reliability, quality and cost-efficiency from your compressed air system. The dependability of TURBO-DR dryers is derived from the unique combination of components and features designed for a long and productive service life. These dryers satisfy both the quality and performance demands of your application and environment. 4.0 ycling Dryer onsumption kw 3. Non-ycling Dryers 3.0 2. Large apacity Dryers Modular Design for nhanced Productivity ycling and non-cycling refrigerated dryers for larger compressed air volumes 400 to 32 000 m 3 /h accomplish drying by integrating multiple independent refrigerant core modules mounted onto a single frame and manifolded to a common header. The cycling version shares a common glycol circuit with primary and back-up pumps to ensure uninterrupted operation. This design allows for additional built-in expansion capability and redundancy. ach refrigerant module retains its own refrigeration system with heat exchanger, and a no-loss-drain linked by a common control so that it can run independently. This provides the right balance of cooling proportional to overall compressed air volume. The system also uses multiple shared compressors and pumps to provide redundancy and to increase uptime. Both the cycling and non-cycling models benefit from a patented aluminum heat exchanger design that enables peak throughput with low pressure drop, high-heat-transfer efficiency and trouble-free, non-fouling operation. Redundancy for Added Reliability Since each refrigerant module works independently, the redundant, banked system enables complete continued operation even if a module is offline. Overall system function is coordinated through fully adjustable digital controls to meet application requirements.
