Today, along with the growing number of cancer survivors, late effects of anticancer therapy and related quality of life becomes the focus of attention. Children and adolescents, in long-term remission of cancer, represent a risk group of population with need for special health care and very probably also with need for psychological support. In the first part, the study brings an overview of development in the research area of quality of life and well-being in last twenty years. The second part deals with late effects of anticancer therapy and quality of life of child and youth cancer survivors. Concluding part of the contribution informs about a longitudinal study of quality of life of child cancer survivors - The Brno Quality of Life Longitudinal Study of Pediatric Oncology Patients (qolop). Key words: tumor diseases, late effects of therapy, oncopsychology, child age, quality of life, longitudinal study

ŽIVOTNÍ SPOKOJENOST A FUNGOVÁNÍ RODIN S TĚLESNĚ POSTIŽENÝM DÍTĚTEM MONIKA BINAROVÁ - IRENA SOBOTKOVÁ Psychologický ústav Filozofické fakulty Masarykovy univerzity, Brno, ČR LIFE SATISFACTION AND FUNCTIONING OF FAMILIES WITH A PHYSICALLY DISABLED CHILD Abstract: The contribution deals with the characterization of life, with life satisfaction, family functioning and resilience of families with a physically disabled child. The research took place by form of visiting these families in their natural environment. An emphasis was put on the qualitative methodology - that is, interviews, observations, and family visits. Of the quantitative methods, the Family Environment Scale, Questionnaire of Life Satisfaction and Family Hardiness Index were used. Life satisfaction of parents of a physically disabled child is comparable to satisfaction found in the population of the corresponding age, and we can generally qualify the functioning of families with a physically disabled child as healthy. However, these families are less immune in comparison to other families. Even though the life of a disabled child's parent is very difficult and exhausting, according to the references of some parents, it is simultaneously a happy and a meaningful life. Key words: family functioning, life satisfaction, family resilience, physically disabled child

DIMENZE ETICKO-SPIRITUÁLNÍHO PROŽÍVANÍ ADOLESCENTŮ PAVLÍNA JANOŠOVÁ - PAVEL ŘÍČAN Psychologický ústav Akademie věd ČR, Praha DIMENSIONS OF ETHICO-SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE IN ADOLESCENCE Abstract: To study the ethical aspect of spirituality in the context of spirituality as an integral whole, as well as in relation to other aspects of personality, an abbreviated version of the Spirituality Experiencing Questionnaire (PSQ) was used, but also Spiritual Values Questionnaire, Coping With Anger Test, and Logo-Test with 1088 students of gymnasium (grammar school). The full version of PSQ, Piedmont's Spirituality Transcendence Scale, and NEO-PI-R were used in the sample of 410 college students. On the basis of factor analysis, as one of the five scales of the PSQ Questionnaire - a scale of Careful Conscientiousness was created, which conveys orientation to existential experiencing of good and evil, sensitiveness to the ideal of purity, etc. The second scale - which was constructed rationally from the remaining ethically harmonized items of PSQ (collected from the sample of college students) - was called as Ethical Enthusiasm. Contrary to the first scale, it shows more encouraging experiencing related to ethical belief or behavior, experience of forgiving or purification. The correlations of both these scales with other variables confirm their conceptual validity as instruments for measurement of the two complementary aspects of spirituality. Key words: ethical involvement, spirituality, value orientation, coping with anger, Logo-test, Big Five, adolescent crisis
