Existing Liquid Handling Problems Air-cushion pipettes are convenient for dispensing but cannot be used for dispensing non-aqueous, viscous or hazardous liquids. Only positive displacement devices such as syringes are suitable for dispensing these types of liquids. Pipettes can only be calibrated for aqueous liquids. This air-cushion behaves like a spring that effectively holds the aspirated volume of liquid in the tip. evol XR Digital Analytical Syringe The integrated XCHANGE coupling allows evol Syringes to be quickly and easily changed. A magnetic connection is made between the plunger drive and the syringe plunger. When the XCHANGE coupling is pulled back the syringe can be removed and replaced.
evol XR Digital Analytical Syringe Five (5) XCHANGE evol Syringes cover a volume range from 200 nl to 1000 ul with a precision and accuracy better than 0.5 % (full stroke) when calibrated. A similar volume range using a pipette would require between 5 to 12 individual pipettes and would not deliver the same precision and accuracy.
