MLA Works Cited Format & Examples MLA Style Guidelines Center the title (Works Cited) at the top of your page Set all margins to 1 Alphabetize the list by author s last name OR the first word of the entry (ignore The, A, An) Double space the entire document, both between and within entries Use hanging indentation; after the first line, indent each subsequent line ½ (tab) Number the page at the top right with your last name (Smith 11) Remove hyperlinks so that the URL/web address appears as regular text, if required by your teacher PRINT MEDIUM BOOKS Author s Last name, First. Title of Book. City: Publisher, Copyright date. Medium. Shorten the publisher s name; omit words like: Company, Co., Corp., Inc., House, Publishers, Press.
