the vital force Our introduction Defining members of the domestic fertilizer market are Nitrogénmûvek Zrt., Bige Holding Kft. and Péti Nitrokomplex Kft. which all belong to the Bige Holding Group. The first ammonium and nitrogen fertilizer factory in Hungary was built in 1931 in Pétfürdô. Since then Nitrogénmûvek Zrt. has been the fertilizer manufacturer of defining importance of the Hungarian market. During the course of time certain products of ours, such as calcium ammonium nitrate (so called Pétisó) have become a concept for Hungarian farmers. In 2007 Nitrogénmûvek Zrt. has reached a defining stage in its history. The aim of the acid plant investment was the establishment of an up-to-date plant in conformity with the current technical level and the requirements of today. With the construction of the granulation plant group a technology operating with a safer and more effective production procedure was introduced. In the last years Nitrogénmûvek Zrt. has won several recognitions, among others the Business Superbrands title as well. The activity scope of Bige Holding Kft. was broadened in 2004 with the production and packaging of compacted NPK chemical fertilizers. The distribution of the chemical fertilizers is carried out by Nitrogénmûvek Zrt. The Szolnok plant which operates with a modern technology is capable of producing any kind of complex chemical fertilizer. Beyond the environmentally friendly technology, the plant is also characterized by favourable specific energy consumption. Péti Nitrokomplex Kft. carries out the production, distribution and development of chemical fertilizers with macro, meso and micro element content since 1991. In addition to the manufacture and distribution of special horticultural, solution and solid chemical fertilizers the company also provides the small packaging and preparation of basic chemical fertilizers for hobby garden use which are produced by Nitrogénmûvek Zrt. and Bige Holding Kft. In addition to all of the above, we also sell basic chemical fertilizers to farmers. The company s micro-element products can also be used in ecological cultivation. As members of Bige Holding Group our aim is to meet the demands of our customers with a level of high quality and flexible service. In order to achieve this, we work in conformity with the requirements of ISO 9001/2000 quality management standard. The operation of Nitrogénmûvek Zrt. satisfies the requirements of ISO 14001/2004 standard as well. We regard the environment-protection as the basic value of production activity and company culture. In the interest of better service provision to end-users we have created the Genezis Partner Network in 2009. This direct-sales team recommends the complete selection of Genezis chemical fertilizer products, alongside the already operating distribution network. The broad Genezis product palette includes nitrogen and complex chemical fertilizers, solid and liquid basic- and top-dressing fertilizers, as well as irrigation and foliar fertilizers. With the help of the complete chemical fertilizer product range supplemented with professional advice cost-effective farming can be achieved. 2

F E R T I L I Z E R P R O D U C T C A T A L O G U E About environment-friendly fertilization The job of fertilizers is to supplement the nutrients found in nature as well, and to do that to a level, which may ensure economical crop yield. Thus, with fertilization no chemicals are put into the soil apart from those which would not already be present there from the outset. Genezis chemical fertilizers contain only those important nutrients which are also supplied by the soil and the organic fertilizers. Therefore, with proper use, chemical fertilizers provide harmonious supply of essential substances, which results in healthier vegetation and sustainable soil fertility. The increased productivity of the cultivated areas of land serves the conservation of the natural environment. More lush vegetation decreases the glasshouse-effect by producing oxygen. The organic matter content of the soil also increases due to the larger quantity of stubble and stalk remnants getting into the soil. Soil erosion is decreased through the active roots of the healthy vegetation, and it makes use of the naturally occurring, respectively released nutritive substances much better, thus decreasing the amount of nutritive substances getting into surface waters. The non-desired side effects of chemical fertilizers occurs, when the fertilizers are released into the soil not in the right amount and manner e.g.: in case of uneven sprinkling, in some places the fertilizer will be more or less than what the produce needs. The favourable effect of the joint release of organic and chemical fertilizer is well known. It is advantageous if the organic fertilizer provides only half of the active ingredients, because liquid manure may clog the pores of the soil and ruin its structure, the soil will become airless and swampy or cracked, if the soil dries out. Fertilization based on the right principles however, is not only environmentally protective, but also economical, because only the quantity of fertilizer is released into the soil which is required by the produce to achieve optimal crop yield. 3

F E R T I L I Z E R P R O D U C T C A T A L O G U E Our irrigation and foliar fertilizers The significance of foliar fertilization The small amount of nutritive substances released in a diluted water solution not only mean micro-element replenishment and deficiency cure, but this also comes with drought damage mitigation and quickened ripening effect as it increases the meso and macro nutritive substance level. With the use of foliar fertilization the condition of the produced crop can be significantly increased, along with its crop yield. The advantage of foliar fertilization is that the nutritive substance exerts its effect directly and instantly. It nourishes the crop quickly and effectively even when it is unable to absorb the nutritive substances fully from the soil. Foliar fertilization only influences soil conditions to a small extent. The micro-element requirement can be fulfilled quickly, and the deficiency symptom can be eliminated. It can be carried out with other plant protection work, and released along with plant protection substances in one go. The quantity and the quality of the crop yield improve due to foliar fertilization. As far as the micro-elements are concerned there is a genuine deficiency of them, when micro elements are not found in the soil in sufficient quantities. Relative deficiency can also cause problems through ion-antagonism. However, the deficiency symptom can be quickly eliminated with foliar fertilization. At least as much attention should be given to the replenishment of micro-elements as much attention is paid to the replenishment of the main nutritive elements. Their replenishment can be solved with a relatively small cost, but with great efficiency with foliar fertilization. Foliar administration of nutrient replenishment is needed in case of the reduced root function, in the case of stimulating vegetal life processes, and in the case of stress situations. The significance of fertigation The most effective method of regulated nutrient replenishment is the combined use of nutrient-solution, sprinkling and fertilizing. Becoming more and more widespread in horticultural cultivation, it is the most up to date water and nutriment-solution effective plant nutrient method. With the help of this system the quantity of the required nutrient-solution can be dosed precisely and in precise quantities. The advantage of nutrient-solution usage is that the water and the nutrients reach the roots of the plant evenly, as chemical fertilizers are completely soluble. The dissolved nutrients get directly to the root with the water, which makes both phosphorus and potassium instantly absorbable. The application of the fertilizer can happen at any time, at a time which is the best from the aspect of the development of the plant, with just the right dose of amount and nutrient ratio. The continuous, small-dose application adjusted to the needs of the plants, prevents the leaching or bonding of the nutrients, as well as root necrosis. An important part of nutrient-solution usage is the stock solution, which is made by dissolving the chemical fertilizers. The stock solution makes the dissolution and incorporation easier and also enables precise application regulated by automatics. 19
