Application Instructions (At Home Use) LIGHTENING GEL FOR SENSITIVE AREAS Our Lightening Gel is very easy to use at home. While our Lightening Gel is very mild, it is advisable to instruct all customers to do a patch test by applying a small amount of the Gel on a smaller, less sensitive area first before applying to a larger or more sensitive area to make sure that there is no irritation, especially if they have sensitive skin or known issues. If any irritation occurs, the customer should discontinue use. Once they determine that no irritation has occurred, they are ready to begin. For best results, use the Lightening Gel twice a day. The easiest routine is in the morning after a shower and at night before bedtime. They should begin their lightening regime by washing as normal. Allow skin to dry. Apply directly to the desired area (external only) by gently rubbing in a circular motion until completely absorbed into the skin. Make sure to use enough product to thoroughly cover the desired area. No gloves or brushes needed. Allow to absorb and dry completely before applying any other product such as an underarm deodorant. Continue use until the desired result is achieved. Most people will begin to see results starting in as little as within 2 3 weeks. However, each individual is different and the length of time for results will vary depending on the cause and severity of the discoloration. It may take up to 6 or 8 weeks for full results on some types of discolorations. It is important to reduce any irritations from rubbing, waxing or shaving which can also cause dark discoloration. Application Instructions (In Salon) LIGHTENING GEL FOR SENSITIVE AREAS These instructions are modified for any esthetician to help analyze the customer s skin lightening needs, screen for any potential issues, make appropriate recommendations and demonstrate an application of the Lightening Gel to a customer. The customer will continue treatments at home on their own afterwards. STEP 1 Assessing the Customer s Needs During your consultation with the customer, ask them if they have any skin issues including hyper pigmentation or dark discoloration of any areas. This would include not only the bikini area but underarms, breasts, face and any other spots where women have trouble. This would also include scars or burn marks. As you perform treatments such as bikini waxing or other skin treatments, you may also notice if the customer has any obvious discolorations. This is also a good time to bring up the subject with the customer and discuss any issues with them. It is important to understand and gauge the comfort level of your customers in this process. Some will be less comfortable discussing their intimates than others. It is important to make the customer feel comfortable and let them know that this is a very common problem and that they are not alone. As an esthetician or other skin care professional, you are in a unique position to gain the customer s trust and build a relationship where they feel comfortable discussing their needs with you. Any imperfections or perceived flaws can be embarrassing, especially where the intimate areas are concerned. But most customers will not realize that there is a safe, easy and non embarrassing solution to these types of problems. Depending on how your sales are set up, you may be able to offer a package of the product with a treatment or even a first application with purchase for later home use. Determine if they are pregnant, nursing, or have any known allergies as a precaution. Our products are very safe and mild but we want everyone to be extra safe at these times. STEP 2 Demonstrating or Providing a First Application As with your waxing or other service, make the client comfortable and reassured. Our formula is specifically designed to be safe, gentle and non irritating. While the Skin Lightening Gel is very safe and gentle, as with any product, it is always a good idea to discuss the treatment with your client, explain how it works and check with them to see if they are pregnant, nursing, or have any known allergies. After waxing the anal and/or vaginal area, have the client lay down on their hands and knees for applying to the anal area and on their back for application to the vaginal area. External ONLY! Make sure the application area is not overly irritated from the waxing. While the Skin Lightening Gel is gentle and does not require gloves to be used, the salon employee should always wear gloves for sanitary reasons and the protection and comfort of the client. A brush may also be used. Clients can use their finger to apply themselves at home. No gloves or brushes needed. STEP 3 Apply a small, pea sized amount to the finger or a small brush. Apply directly to the desired area, rubbing in circular motion until completely absorbed into the skin. Allow the application areas to absorb and dry completely (just a few seconds) before applying any other product such as a soothing lotion. STEP 4 Client should continue use at home (twice per day) until the desired result is achieved. The frequency of use will depend on the individual and their skin pigmentation. Most people will see results within 2 6 weeks. However, each individual's skin is different and length of time for results will vary.
