This terrorist attack is a sign of the lack of respect for human life. We live in a time of irrational violence and cannot shrug it off as "another 51 people died". Let us speak about respect for all, be instruments of peace and make sure our personal lives are peaceful. Please pray for those whose lives have been taken and for their families. May God give them comfort in a time of pain. May God heal those in critical care. God weeps when we take human life into our hands and cause death. We pray: Eternal rest grant to them O Lord and give comfort to their families. Amen Death Sister Mary Osanna Hymel, O.P., a Dominican Sister of Peace, died Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Mohun Health Care Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born in Edgard, Louisiana and taught at St. Anthony of Padua, St. John the Baptist, and St. Matthias in New Orleans, St. Peter in Reserve and St. Joan of Arc in Laplace, and also schools in other areas. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM with the Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 PM at St. Peter Church, 1550 Hwy. 44, Reserve, LA. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM at Rosaryville on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, with burial following. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Please keep Sr. Osanna, the Dominican Sisters of Peace, and her family in your prayers. P a g e 3 Ordinary Time Intercessions for the Year of Mercy That we may embrace the mercy of Christ each day during this Jubilee Year of Mercy, and that we may become ever more generous in offering mercy to others, That, each day, we will be bearers of forgiveness and reconciliation and that this Jubilee Year of Mercy will be a season of hope and renewal for our world, our community, our Church and our families, For all who long for reconciliation and renewal, that this Jubilee Year of Mercy will find their dreams fulfilled and hope restored, For all who focus on their sin rather than God s mercy, for those who linger in guilt rather than seek renewal, for those who hide in shame rather than seek the bright light of forgiveness, that this Jubilee Year of Mercy will find them accepting new hope and new life, That, in this Jubilee Year of Mercy, we may have the confidence to acknowledge our own sins and to seek the forgiveness of God and others, and that we may be ready bearers of the gift of mercy to those who have sinned against us, That, accepting the gift of Divine Mercy, we may share that gift generously with others each day of this Jubilee Year of Mercy, Priests Salary Scale The 2016-2017 priests salary scale has been e-mailed to each priests archdiocesan e-mail address. Please publicize in the most effective manner possible; sample bulletin announcements are available as an attachment to this Oracle. Thank you for your support of Peter's Pence Collection. Blessing for Father s Day God our Father, In your wisdom and love you made all things. Bless these men, that they may be strengthened as Christian fathers. Let the example of their faith and love shine forth. In moments of joy, rejoice with them. In times of struggle, give them your courage and perseverance. Grant that we, their sons and daughters, may honor and appreciate them always with a spirit of profound respect. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen. Suggested Petitions for Father s Day For our fathers, who have given us life and love, that we may show them reverence and love, For fathers who have lost a child through death, that their faith may give them hope, and their family and friends support and console them, For fathers who have died, that God may bring them into the joy of his kingdom, we pray to the Lord. For those who desire to be a father, but are unable to do so, that they will know God s care,

Parish Appeal (Read this text from the pulpit, or include it as part of your weekly announcements.) Through the Peter s Pence Collection, we stand in solidarity with Catholics all over the world to support the charitable works of Pope Francis. Contributions to this collection are used to support the Holy Father as he reaches out to those suffering the effects of war and violence, natural disasters, and religious persecution. As he has reminded us in this Jubilee Year of Mercy, the time has come for the Church to take up the joyful call to mercy once more. It is time to return to the basics and to bear the weaknesses and struggles of our brothers and sisters. Mercy is the force that reawakens us to new life and instills in us the courage to look to the future with hope (Misericordiae Vultus, no. 10).
