6 P a g e 6 Filming On Archdiocesan Property Recently, there has been an increase in the number of requests our properties have received from production companies. Should any parish, parochial or archdiocesan school or ministry of the Archdiocese of New Orleans be contacted for use in the filming or production of a TV show, movie or other video format, please be directly in contact with Sarah McDonald in the Office of Communications at or smcdonald@arch-no.org so that the appropriate actions can be taken in the most timely way possible. We want to cooperate as best we can with those making requests but must be sure that insurance and liability issues are properly addressed and that respect for the Catholic Church and its properties are maintained. Database Information With the approval of Archbishop Aymond and the Presbyteral Council, the Office of Stewardship and Development has begun the process of investigating database providers in an effort to select a single platform for all parishes and central administration to use to identify and register parishioners. This is an exciting prospect for parishes as this will allow the archdiocesan administration to provide necessary support and training on the database function as well as allow for smoother transitions for clergy and lay staff. This is not a quick process but one which we wanted to make the parishes aware of as we are moving forward. We respectfully ask that parishes refrain from purchasing any database or database modules at this time. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Cory Howat in the Office of Stewardship and Development at or chowat@arch-no.org. Holy Week Schedules This is a reminder to all parishes to please make your complete Holy Week liturgical and sacramental schedules easily available to parishioners and visitors by including it in your Mass announcements this weekend, your bulletins and your out-of-office voice messages throughout Holy Week. Also, please check to be sure that your Holy Week schedule is available on your parish's website. Thank you for your attention to this matter. For any inquiries on the Archdiocesan News Oracle, please contact Pastoral Planning and Ministries at planningandministries@archdiocese-no.org. A r c h d i o c e s a n N e w s O r a c l e

9 UP COMING RETREATS April 10 12, 2015 Faith in Trial and Transition Our lives are always changing and the transitions can be painful as well as confusing. Our retreat will bring peace in prayer and perseverance. Rev. Paul S. Hart Father Paul Hart is the Director of Retreats at St. Joseph Abbey. He has served as pastor at St. Andrew the Apostle Church and as Chaplain at Archbishop Chapelle High School. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> April 17-19, 2015 The Joy of the Gospel This retreat will explore the meaning of the New Evangelization to which the church is calling us. Reflections will focus on God s evangelization of us, the challenges in response, the joys of response and the fruit of good response. Scriptural passages will be recommended for follow-up personal prayer. Archbishop Alfred C. Hughes Archbishop Hughes was ordained to the priesthood in 1957 in Boston. He studied Theology and received a doctoral degree in Spiritual Theology at Gregorian University in Rome. His focus is Spiritual Theology and Spiritual Direction. He was named fourth Bishop of Baton Rouge. In 2002, he was named Archbishop of New Orleans, a position which he held until his retirement in >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> April 24-26, 2015 Stations for a New Creation: Rest Stops on the Resurrection Road During this retreat, we will reflect on fifteen key moments from the Gospel accounts of Jesus appearance to his disciples after his resurrection and the Acts of the Apostles that challenge us to radical transformation in the Risen
10 Christ. From the empty tomb to the road to Damascus, the resurrection stories and the experiences of the first community of believers offer prophetic hope for those traveling the journey of faith today. As we rest awhile at each of the fifteen stations, we gather the strength and courage to become a new creation for a wounded and weary world. Rev. Joseph F. Nassal, CPPS Fr. Joseph Nassal is the author of eight books including, The Conspiracy of Compassion, Rest Stops for the Soul, Premeditated Mercy, Moments of Truth and Stations of the Crib.
