DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ASSOCIATED (EMD-A) AND STANDALONE EMD (EMD-S) There are two types of EMDs, the standalone EMD (EMD-S) and the associated EMD (EMD-A) that can be associated to s. The two types differ in their behaviour and usage. Here are the main characteristics: Standalone EMD (EMD-S) A standalone EMD is issued for a residual value or the collection of miscellaneous charges that are not lifted with an. For example vouchers, group deposits, change fees, and so on. Associated EMD (EMD-A) An associated EMD is issued for the collection of miscellaneous charges and excess baggage charges that are lifted (considered used) at the same time as the. For example, sports equipment, pets in cabin or animal in hold, excess baggage, and so on. The standalone EMD can consist of a single or multiple value coupons depending on background settings. The associated EMD can consist of a single or multiple value coupons that are directly linked to individual flight coupons. It can be issued in connection with individual s or an e- ticket. Each EMD coupon that is associated to an e- ticket is referenced in the e-ticket record with the corresponding. It can be linked with an e-ticket for reference. It can be consumed at issuance or used at different stages. Passenger must hold Icelandair e-ticket. EMD-A issuance on FI flight for customer having other airline validated e-tickets requires EMD interline agreement between carriers. It has no interaction with the airline systems (reservation systems and DCSs). The routing of the EMD-A and the e-ticket coupons must match. An EMD-A can be automatically or manually associated or disassociated. Only airline agents can manually associate and disassociate EMD- As. The EMD-A's final usage depends on the e- ticket coupon it is associated to, providing it does not become disassociated. 3

What are RFICs / RFISCs? An RFIC is a Reason-For-Issuance Code. It defines which group of services an EMD belongs to. The RFICs are compliant with the IATA standard. An RFIC can have multiple Reason-For-Issuance Sub- Codes (RFISCs). The RFISCs are airline-specific. How RFICs/RFISCs are used in the EMD TSM When you create an EMD Transitional Stored Miscellaneous (TSM) document or EMD pricing record, the RFIC and RFISCs and their description are automatically filled in the EMD TSM. All services contained in an EMD belong to the same reason for issuance. An EMD may contain only one RFIC but several RFISCs for different services or fees. Each EMD coupon is based on the RFISC. An EMD cannot contain both chargeable special service requests (SSRs) and manual auxiliary segments (SVCs) in one TSM. The system automatically performs a split when the EMD TSM is created. EMD COUPON STRUCTURE An EMD may contain up to 16 coupons, where up to four coupons can have the same EMD number. If an EMD contains more than four coupons, a conjunction EMD will be issued (up to four). The EMD coupon status indicates the current usage of the service or fee. When an EMD is associated to an e-ticket, the coupon status change of the e-ticket and the EMD coupons are partly synchronized (temporary statuses do not come over from e-ticket to EMD). EMD-A Behaviour When the e-ticket that is associated to EMD is set to flown status (F) by airline departure control system (DCS), F status is cascaded also to associated EMD coupon. Intermediate statuses of e-ticket (A or C) are not cascaded on EMD coupon. Association / Disassociation System automatically disassociates EMD from e-ticket when: If a travel agent exchanges, same routing only, that has EMD-A attached to it, Icelandair Ticketing Help Desk must be contacted ( preferably by e-mail) to reassociate the EMD to the new ticket. Policy The following baggage fees apply when traveling on Icelandair flights only. Other rules may apply if the trip includes more than one airline. Please check with the operating carrier for more information on their baggage rules. An extra bag can be purchased in addition to baggage allowance quoted on the ticket. Please read more about the terms and conditions on Icelandair website. Price as of 1. Sept. 2013 Extra bag Bags weighing 1-23kg (1lb-50lbs) ZONE 1 Flights within EUROPE 35 $46 ISK 5,700 ZONE 2 Flights between ICELAND and the USA/CANADA 90 $120 ISK 14,000 Heavy bag Surcharge for any bag heavier than 23kg (50lbs) will be charged at the airport. The maximum weight per bag is 32kg (70lbs). ZONE 3 Flights between EUROPE and the USA/CANADA 100 $132 ISK 16,000 Fees will be assessed for every category that applies. If a passenger, for instance has an extra bag which is heavier than 23kg (50lbs), both the extra bag fee and the heavy bag fee will apply. Sporting Firearms (WEAP) is only sold at the airport. Please see price for all sporting equipments in Amadeus. EMD-A issuance restrictions Icelandair EMD-A can be issued only on FI flights operated by Icelandair Passenger must hold Icelandair e-ticket. EMD-A issuance on FI flight for customer having other airline validated e-tickets requires EMD interline agreement between carriers. Changes and Refund Refunds Pre-purchased extra bags are non-refundable. No refund is available for any unused portion of extra bags purchased. Change rules: The route of the prepaid baggage must remain the same. Flight rebooked to another date / flight nbr changes. Must be the same routing. Ticket is voided -> EMD needs to be voided separately. Ticket is refunded. EMD will not be refunded. Ticket is revalidated by travel agency. EMD-A needs to be reassociated, contact Icelandair. New SSR needs to be created. EMD-A is automatically disassociated from e-ticket when void/refund is done. Passenger changes his mind and rebooks ticket in a lower class. Rerouted ARN FI KEF FI CPH SK ARN (voluntary) -> Journey is changed, so EMD can not be used for new rerouting. Upgrade with money. Downgrade is not permitted on the same route. EMD is disassociated at ticket reissue. Prepaid fee does not apply to interlining and EMD interlining is not in place yet. Ticket is reissued, contact Icelandair (see below) for EMD reassociation.
