Pre-Requisites You will need to create two custom lists, one which holds the questions and answers and another which holds the user information. Create Quiz List From Documents and List, select Create/Custom List. Add the following columns in the following format: (see Pic. 1). Please note that you MUST enter the column names as shown they are case sensitive and will not work if you abbreviate or change any of the headings. Quiz Name This is a text field which stores the name of the quiz. This list can host multiple quizzes, with each quiz identified by a unique name. All questions with the same quiz name will be displayed on one quiz web-part. Question Number Question Question Type Choices Answer Answer Explanation Points This is a numeric field that stores the question number of a question within a quiz. This is a text field that stores the actual text of the question. This is a multiple lines of text drop down list field with two possible values: Single Response Multiple Response Please ensure that the options are keyed in exactly as specified. This is a multi-line text field that stores the available options for a given question. The options are separated by a new line (enter key). This is a text field that contains the appropriate answers for a given question. If the question is a Multiple-Response question, the answers will be separated by commas,. Please note that the answer is actually the index of the correct option, i.e. if the you wish to indicate that the correct answers for a question are options 1 and 3, the answer field should contain: 0,2 To indicate the correct answer you should use the following format for numbers if the correct answer is answer no. 3 then this should be noted as 2. If the correct answer is answer 1, then this should be typed in as 0! This is a brief text explanation for the given answer. This will be displayed on the results screen of the web-part. Pic 2 User Information List Create the Quiz You will now need to enter the relevant information into the Quiz List. Select New Item from the Quiz list and enter the relevant information. SharePoint 4 Quiz WebPart
In this question, there are three correct answers: Add the Quiz Web-Part to your page: Choose to Modify this Page, and then Add WebPart. Drag and Drop the Quiz list to wherever you would like to have this displayed on the page. From the Quiz List webpart, select Modify Shared WebPart from the drop-down list. Make the following changes to the Quiz Parameters shown at the bottom of the Quiz WebPart: Enter the name of the list which contains your Quiz questions and answers here. Enter the name of list which contains your User Information here. Enter the name of your Quiz here. Note this should be the same as the name that you have entered into the Quiz Name field in your Quiz list. This is where you can set the pass rate for this quiz. SharePoint 5 Quiz WebPart
Take the Quiz Once you have set the Quiz up, you can take then start to use the Quiz. When a user has completed the quiz they will be presented with a screen telling them which questions they have answered correctly and which ones they have not. It will also tell them whether they have passed or failed, based on the Quiz Pass Score you have entered. Analyse the Answers To view the results of the quiz, go to the list which contains your User Information, i.e. in this case it would be User Details. In here you can view everybody s score and export the results to Excel where you can create graphs, etc. SharePoint 6 Quiz WebPart
