GREEN BUILDING APPLICATIONS METU Research and Implementation Centre for Built Environment and Design (RICBED) METU-RICBED has won Architectural Design Competition organized by Yapi Endüstri Merkezi with its success in Energy Efficient Design and Implementation among its other values. RICBED is one of the very few energy efficient buildings in Turkey.

METU Kizilay R&D Center (TÜKAM) Built by Middle East Technical University (METU), Kizilay Research and Develeopment (R&D) Center is one of the green buildings in Turkey with a total area of 370 m 2 that will supply its whole energy by itself. Architectural design of the building is done by Dr. Abdi Guzer, the winner of the Energy Efficient Design 2008 with his design of the METU-RICBED building. Energy Director and METU-RICBED consultant Arif Kunar has been in charge for Environmental consultancy. At the roof of the building, it has been used various alternative energy efficient systems including but not limited to, transparent solar pv panels, horizontal wind turbine, grass roof application, ground source heat pump, trombe wall, sunlight chimney, passive lighting, heating and cooling, special insulator and brick materials, roof rainwater collection and reusage system, led lighting, building and energy monitoring automation. LEED Gold Certification Candidate ESER Management Building With energy efficient and green building design by Prof. Dr. Haluk Pamir, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, the construction of ESER Management Building has begun from scratch with Integrated Building Design and Project Management System, aiming to receive LEED Silver Certificate. The building s LEED and environmental energy consultancy is provided by EDSM Energy. Beside the aim of LEED Silver Certificate, ESER is also designed to be a High Performance Building. EDSM Energy is executing this project with experts in the field like Prof. Dr. Birol Kılkış, and Dr. İbrahim Çakmanus, consultants like LEED AP and engineering companies like ETS ESER Engineering-Project Group.

Then he joined a company active in the field of environmental and analytical instrumentation as a sales engineer in 1982. Became the area manager responsible for Izmir region, but resigned in 1992 and founded TETRA and half of owner of EDSM since 2007. Ms. GULNAZ ÖLMEZ (1971) Environmental Engineer, MSc., Financial Coordinator After graduation from university with a brilliant grade, she started her master on Toxicity Identification & Reduction Evaluation at Industrial Effluents, and took training on toxicity at Norwest Labs, Edmonton, Canada for 2 months, and in September, 1995, joined TESTO and EDSM. Mr. OZGUR KUCUKHUSEYIN (1972) Environmental Engineer, MBA, Strategic Planning and Business Development Director After graduation, he became a Sales Engineer at Tetra. Then he became Product Manager. After three years he joined Testo and worked as a Sales Manager for 7 years. Now he is the partner of EDSM and providing technical solutions and information about measuring devices. Ms. YONCA ERCUMEN (1968) Environmental Engineer, Ph.D., Education Coordinator After graduation, she worked as a research assistant at Bogazici University, Environmental Sciences Institute for 9 years. She joined EDSM in 2009. Mr. FERIT LEBLEBICI (1958) Chemical Engineer, Ph. D., Dr. After graduation he worked as an engineer and manager Turkish Sugar Refinery Corporation for 26 years. Mr. BIROL KILKIS (1949) Mechanical Engineer, Prof. Dr., Chief Supervisor In 2008 he joined EDSM as a technical consultant in the subject of green mechanical systems. Also he has been the Manager of ASHRAE High Performance Building Council since 1990. Ms. SERMIN ONAYGIL (1958) Electronic Engineer, Prof. Dr., Instructor- Solution Partner She is the part-time instructor in EDMS s trainings. She is the head of the department of Energy Planning and Management in Istanbul Technical University.
