At the same time, we ensure that the metal waste and transportation packaging arising from our own production is always ultimately recycled. Long-term experience Metalpak Oy was founded in 1983. Today, it is part of the Kiilto Group. The company s head offi ce is in Sääksjärvi, Lempäälä, near Tampere. ERIKOISPAKKAUKSET CONICAL CONTAINERS Techno-chemical conical containers are tight and rigid containers that are easy to open and close. They can be stacked inside each other, thereby saving transport and storage costs. Colour printing on the outside of the containers supports our customers corporate image as well as their product and sales targets. The inside of the containers can be coated with various types of lacquer, depending on the product being packaged. Conical containers are highly suitable for the packaging of paint, printing ink and oil-based products as well as hazardous chemicals. Our manufacturing programme covers 2 20 litre metal containers. Conical containers are equipped with either lug, press-on or ring lids. These containers are suitable for storing hazardous substances, and a UN-approved version is available in each size class. After use, they are completely recyclable. 3

ERIKOISPAKKAUKSET FOOD PACKAGING Our food cans represent high-quality food-industry packaging that takes into account the requirements set for the preservation and hygiene of the product. The packaging must also comply with the quality requirements set for food grade containers, so they must be able to withstand the heating and refrigeration stages of the fi lling process as well as the long storage, handling and sales periods of the packaged products. These cans are highly suitable for tinned vegetables, fi sh and meat as well as for mushrooms, vegetable oils and other foodstuffs. SPECIAL PACKAGING In keeping with its name, special packaging has been developed for special purposes including, for example, various cans and marshall light containers. Among the latest items that we have developed are protective containers for fl owers, rubbish bins, ashtrays designed for restaurant terraces, and product-display containers. We can also develop products based on your special requirements. All special products can be colour printed, provided that sufficient quantities of the particular product are ordered. LIDS Metalpak Oy packaging is closed with either a lug or press-on lid. A press-on lid can be further secured, if necessary, with a separate ring. Depending on the type of ring used, UN approval can be obtained for the closure. Press-on lids can be found in our selection for technochemical conical containers in size classes 2-4 and 10-20 litres. Lug lids are available for techno-chemical conical containers in size classes 2-4 and 10-20 litres, and for food industry conical containers in size class 5-10 litres. Several interior and exterior lacquering options are available for the lids, enabling the packaging to be finished according to the customer s image. If necessary, containers can also be delivered with standard plugs (S2, P2 etc.). Lid sealing materials are either PVC- or natural rubber-based, depending on the application. PRESS-ON LID CONTAINERS Packaging in sizes of one litre and smaller is in the form of cylindrical press-on lid containers. The most common sizes of the containers we manufacture are 0.33, 0.5, 0.75 and 1.0 litres. We are also capable of producing packaging with customer-specifi c colour printing, even in surprisingly low order quantities. Press-on lid containers are highly suitable for the packaging, storage and use of paint and chemical industry products. The edge of the lid-ring in all cans is rolled upwards, so that the potentially corrosive surface is never inside the can. It is also possible for lids to have a socalled colour sample dent, in which a colour sample can be placed during fi lling. Press-on lid containers are also appropriate for the packaging of confectionery industry products. 7

ERIKOISPAKKAUKSET LID-CLOSURE DEVICES Metalpak Oy delivers lid-closure devices for various types of can. Our lid-closure product range includes manual, compressed-air and closure station devices. We also offer maintenance services for the lid-closure devices we manufacture. To prevent problems emerging in the storage, transportation and final use of packaging, it is absolutely essential that the package is closed in a technically correct way.
