NOTES Cable type and cable cross-section Installation and mounting To connect the power supply to the terminal, a single-wire or fine-wire conductor with a cable cross section of 0.2 to max. 1.5mm2 can be used. When installing the PI-LED LINEAR SYSTEM in a luminaire, it does not have to be protected against accidental contact. The photometric parameters of PI-LED LINEAR SYSTEM may change when installed in a luminare. Electrical supply The PI-LED LINEAR SYSTEM must be operated with a constant-voltage power supply recommended by Lumitech. When using a constant-voltage power supply, the following protective functions have to be ensured: Short-circuit detection Overload protection Over-temperature shutdown A list of recommended constant-voltage power supplies is available on our website. Operation Assembly! The PI-LED LINEAR SYSTEM needs a sufficiently large cooling surface for proper operation. The LED modules must be thermally bonded and fixed by an electrically insulating thermally conductive foil to the heat sink. The PI-LED LINEAR SYSTEM must not be mounted directly on a metal surface. When mounted on a metallic surface, additional insulation must be installed (eg insulating thermal pad) between LED module and metallic surface. The LED modules can be mounted with 2 M3 screws per LED module. In order to not damage the LED modules, additional plastic inserts should be used. Max. torque for fixing: 0.5 Nm EOS/ESD security policy CE - luminaire labeling The PI-LED LINEAR SYSTEM contains components that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge and may only be installed if appropriate EOS / ESD protection in manufacturing and in application is applied. The PI-LED LINEAR SYSTEM is tested according to the applicable standards (see Standards). Corresponding standard tests of the final product must be carried out separately. LUMITECH PI-LED systems must be supplied with constant voltage DC! Operation with a constant current converter will lead to an irreversible damage of the LMU. Connecting the supply line to the control channels or connecting an improper power supply to the power terminals may result in irreversible damage to the LMU.
