Since 2006, the Government of Dubai has been working to build a city that will lead the rest of the emirate in embodying the societal themes required for the facilitation of happiness. While the more visible features of Dubai South such as the Al Maktoum International Airport are already in public view, the city is progressively planning and executing several beneficial initiatives that are designed to maximize the happiness of individuals. THE CITY OF SEAMLESS CONNECTIVITY BETWEEN AIR, LAND AND SEA THE CITY OF PROGRESSIVE AVIATION MULTIMODAL LOGISTICS PLATFORM FOR MAXIMUM SPEED AND EFFICIENCY Dubai South integrates the realities of global logistics into the fabric of the city, making it a dynamic and sustainable business hub for SMEs, large corporations, contract logistics, integrators, freight forwarders and agents. It is already home to multinational logistics resources such as Aramex, Panalpina, DHL and Kuehne + Nagel, among others, because it is a multimodal logistics platform providing direct access to Al Maktoum Airport, Jebel Ali Port, the major trans-emirate road networks, Etihad Rail and Dubai Metro. Businesses can take advantage of a dedicated logistics corridor connecting Jebel Ali Port and Dubai South, forming a single, custom-bonded free zone spanning an area of 200 square kilometres. Over the next several years, the Al Maktoum International Airport will be expanding, to eventually enable the airport to fly more than 220 million passengers and 16 million tons of cargo each year.
