KSR Magnetic Float Switches 1003-5 KSR Magnetic Float Switches are used to control distinct levels of a liquid. They are based on the float principle with individual contacts for every level to be monitored. float with a built-in magnetic system actuates a small reed contact through the wall of the guide tube. Thus the switching operation is without direct contact to the liquid, free of wear and tear, and does not require any power supply. KSR Magnetic Float Switches are available with multiple switch points. Contact denomination always refers to rising level of the liquid: S - closing on rising level O - opening on rising level U - change-over y using one float up to a maximum of 2 switch points the switching behaviour is bistable i.e. the switching state will remain the same even when the liquid moves further up or down. Contacts are volt-free. Technical advantages The simple operating principle is suitable for a wide variety of applications. Suitable for virtually all liquids. Measurement of liquid levels independent of physical or chemical changes of the liquid, e.g. foam, conductivity, dielectric constant, S.G., pressure, vacuum, temperature, vapour, condensation, bubbles, boiling effects. High repeatability of set points. Long service life. Suitable for rough environments. Interface and product level measurement possible at -S.G. 50 kg / m 3. KSR Level Sensors / Transmitters KSR Level Sensors/Transmitters are used to measure and transmit the level of liquids in conjunction with a KSR Control Unit. It is based on the float principle with magnetic transmission in a 3-wire potentiometer circuit. float with a built-in magnetic system actuates small reed contacts through the wall of the guide tube. These reed switches form a resistance measuring chain that continuously generates a voltage proportional to the height of the level. The resistance measuring chain is closely stepped and is made up from small chips soldered onto a PC. Due to this assembly the generated voltage is virtually continuous. Depending on requirements and design different contact separations from 5 to 20 mm are available. Signal transmission: External control units and set point relays please refer to catalogue 1011 or Loop-powered control units in terminal box, 4... 20 m output. Technical advantages The simple operating principle is suitable for a wide variety of applications. Continuous measurement of liquid levels independent of physical or chemical changes of the liquid, e.g. foam, conductivity, dielectric constant, S.G., pressure, vacuum, temperature, vapour, condensation, bubbles, boiling effects. Signal transmission over large distances. Simple installation and commissioning, onetime calibration only, no re-calibration necessary. Display proportional to the height of the level or the contents of the vessel. Set point relays continuously adjustable over full range. High repeatability of set points. Interface and product level measurement possible at -S.G. 50 kg / m3. KSR Magnetostrictive Level Transmitters KSR Magnetostrictive Level Transmitters Type FFG-T-... are used for continuous, remote liquid level measurement and based on position monitoring of a magnetic float following the magnetostrictive principle. The measuring process is initiated by a current impulse. This current generates an axial magnetic field (3) along the length of a wire (1) made of magnetostrictive material, which is held under tension inside the guide tube. The float, which sits on the liquid surface, is fitted with permanent magnets (4). When the pulse reaches the float the two magnetic fields interact and a torsional force results. torsional stress wave (5) is induced in the wire. piezoceramic converter in the transmitter housing (2) at the end of the wire converts this into an electrical signal. y measuring the elapsed transit time, it is possible to determine the start point of the torsional stress wave and therefore the float position with a high degree of accuracy. Technical advantages The simple and effective principle of operation makes these devices ideally suited for a plethora of applications. Constant measurement of liquid levels, independent of physical and chemical changes of the medium, such as: foaming, conductivity, dielectric constant, pressure, vacuum, temperature, vapours, condensation, bubbles, boiling effects, S.G. changes.
