INSTALLATION 1. Go to the List of modules page 2. Click on Add a new module

3. Click on Browse 4. Select the lgsitemaps.zip file 5. Click on Upload this module 6. Find the Multilingual Sitemap Generator module 7. Click on Install 8. Click on Configure

MODULE CONFIGURATION Adapt the sitemap creation to the performances of your server The module writes URLs into the sitemaps per batch at regular intervals (X urls every Y seconds). The number of URLs contained in each batch can be set in this field: You can set the duration of the interval in this field (in seconds): If the module asks too many ressources to your server and the creation of sitemaps gets stuck, you will need to : reduce the Number of items per batch increase the Batch process duration save the configuration and create the sitemaps again We recommend you to choose 10 urls every 2 seconds Conversely, if you have an efficient server, you could increase the Number of items per batch and reduce the Batch process duration.

SITEMAP CONFIGURATION 1. Choose the frequency <changefreq> of the page modification to tell seach engines how often they should crawl your website (every hour, day, week, month, year...). 2. Give the priority <priority> to some URLs relative to all the other URLs on your site. This priority can range from 1.0 (extremely important) to 0.1 (not important at all). Note that the priority tag does not affect your site ranking in Google search results. Priority values are only considered relative to other pages on your site so, assigning a high priority (or specifying the same priority for all URLs) will not boost your entire site search ranking. 3. Choose to enable or disable images into the sitemaps (so that your images are visible from Google Images). 4. Click on Save at the bottom of the page to save the configuration before generating the sitemaps.

MULTI-STORE MODE To create sitemaps in multi-store mode (PrestaShop 1.5 and PrestaShop 1.6), you have to: 1. Choose your store in top of the page in «Multistore configuration for» 2. Choose your store inside the module in «ID of the shop» 3. Save the configuration 4. Generate the 4 sitemaps (for each store)

SITEMAPS CREATION The module allows you to create 4 different types of sitemaps : 1 Product sitemap that includes all your product pages 1 Category sitemap that includes all your category pages 1 CMS sitemap that includes all your CMS pages 1 Manufacturer sitemap that includes all your manufacturer pages To create sitemaps, you just need to click on the «Generate the sitemap» button You must keep the window open in your browser and wait until the green number reaches 100% and the exponent says fin. The creation of sitemaps can take up to several hours if you have a high number of products in your stores, this is why you need to be patient. The green percentage corresponds to the progress status of the sitemap creation and must reach 100%. If the creation process gets stuck and doesn't reach 100%, please take a look at the Module configuration

To check if the creation of sitemaps is in progress or stuck, this is what you need to know: The module writes URLs into the sitemaps per batch (X urls every Y seconds). 1.Number of urls per batch The exponent number (100 on the picture) corresponds to the number of URLs already written down into the sitemap. This number increases according to the Number of products per batch (X urls) that you have set in General Configuration. Ex : with 100, the module will display 0, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700... until fin 2.Batch duration process The module generate each batch of URLs at a regular interval that you can see in Batch process duration (s). This means that the exponent number must increase every Y seconds. Ex : in our example, the exponent number must increase by 100 every 5 seconds 3.Conclusion If the exponent number does not increase X seconds, this means that you server cannot provide the sufficient ressources for the creation of sitemaps. Please take a look at the Module configuration to solve the problem.

COMMON ERRORS 1. I don't manage to click on the «Generate the sitemap» button If the https protocole is enabled in your back-office, you will need to remove the s of https in the address bar and refresh the page in order to generate the sitemaps correctly. 2. I don't manage to reach 100% If the module asks too many ressources to your server and the creation of sitemaps gets stuck, you will need to : reduce the Number of items per batch increase the Batch process duration save the configuration and create the sitemaps again We recommend you to choose 10 urls every 2 seconds.

3. I get the Extra content at the end of the document error when I open the sitemap This means that the sitemap is not complete and that the closing tags are missing because the process didn't get to the end. You must keep the window open in your browser until the green number reaches 100% and the exponent says fin. If the creation process gets stuck, you have to modify the Module configuration and generate sitemaps again. 4. I don't manage to create sitemaps for my other shops (multistore mode) Please read this section 5. URL rewriting The module gets all the URLs provided by PrestaShop to create the sitemaps. If you use an URL rewriting module that is not PrestaShop native module, our sitemap module will not be able to get these URLs (as mentioned in the product sheet) and the sitemap content will not be correct. This is why you need to disable your URL rewriting module or use PrestaShop native module so that the sitemap module works correctly.

SITEMAP DISPLAY You need to install a XML viewer in your browser to be able to read easily the content of the sitemaps. Display without XML viewer Display with XML viewer

We recommend you to install the free XV XML Viewer extension for Google Chrome, available at the following address: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/xv-%e2%80%94-xmlviewer/eeocglpgjdpaefaedpblffpeebgmgddk

CRON CONFIGURATION The module provides you with the Cron Url of each sitemap so that you can generate sitemaps automatically and on a regular basis. To do so, we recommend you to install the free Crontab for PrestaShop module that allows you to schedule tasks that will be automatically executed at a certain hour or date. You just need to copy/paste the Cron URL into the module. The module is available at the following address: http://www.prestatoolbox.com/free-modules/115-crontab.html
