MODERN MANAGEMENT OF UTERINE MYOMAS

Dear Colleague, I am pleased to announce that an International Congress entitled Modern Management of Uterine Myomas will be held in Genoa, in April 8 th -9 th 2016. This Meeting aims to offer the participants updated evidence on uterine myomas, the most frequent benign gynaecological condition. In this congress, the epidemiology, as well as the pathogenesis, the histological features, the classification systems and the different methods for the diagnosis of uterine myomas will Simone Ferrero President of the Congress be deeply discussed. Furthermore, all available treatments for this disease will be described exhaustively. One session will be focused on the role of the different medical therapies for uterine myomas. In another session, the radiological alternatives to treat uterine myomas will be considered: uterine artery embolization and MRguided focused ultrasound. Finally, the different surgical options for the management of uterine myomas will be exposed: hysteroscopic, open, laparoscopic and robotic surgery. In the last session of the meeting the impact of uterine myomas on women s fertility and reproductive outcomes will be faced. Associate Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and reproductive Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Director of the Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery portion of the Annual Update in Obstetrics and Gynecology sponsored by Brigham and Women s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Vice President of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL). Scientific Program Chair of the 44 th AAGL Congress (Las Vegas, November 15-19, 2015). Janesh Gupta: Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology working at Birmingham Women s Hospital. Janesh Gupta has published over 100 research papers in scientific journals as well as reviews and book chapters in the fields of fetal medicine, benign gynaecology (including abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids, endometriosis, endometrial hyperplasia), minimal access surgery. He has received grants from WellBeing of Women, Department of Health National Institute for Health Research (Health Technology Assessment), Medical Research Council and various industry partners. Janesh Gupta is the current Editor-in-Chief of European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology.

Felice Petraglia: Full Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Siena. Felice Petraglia has published over 600 research papers in scientific journals as well as reviews and book chapters in several fields of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine. He has been Executive Committee dell International Society Gynecological Endocrinology (ISGE) (1990-2012), Deputy of the Special Interest Group on Reproductive Endocrinology della European Society for Human Reproduction and Embriology (ESHRE) (2003-2007), President of the Society of Gynecological Investigation (2008-2009), Executive Board of the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) (2010-2012).
