How This CD Was Produced This CD was recorded using simple instrumentation and easy to follow music. Each tune has a short introduction followed by the verses and choruses. Some songs have a voice count in. The first nineteen tracks include professional kazoo players performing the melodies. Starting with track twenty, the songs are repeated with only the backing rhythm tracks so that you can Kazoo-Along. You may want to practice with the melody tracks and then let kids perform with only the backing tracks. After some practice kids may be able to perform without the CD at all. How To Use This CD In The Classroom After teaching kids how to play kazoo, you may begin using the CD to get kids to play songs. The melodies of most children s songs such as the ones included on our CD are easy to learn and play. Pick songs that are familiar to you and your class. You may want to have group listen to the CD track first, then listen as you play the kazoo along with the CD. Then everyone will want to play. You may use several of the songs on the CD to help instruct some basic musical concepts as noted in the following sections. Playing the kazoo helps young people understand these musical concepts by letting them actually make the sounds. Playing songs on the kazoo builds self-confidence and self-esteem in kids. After having them play as a group, you may want to let some kids perform solo with the CD. Besides music, you can use the kazoo to add sound effects to favorite stories. Kids can make sounds of their favorite animal or pretend to drive a fast sports car. You can play the kazoo as signal when something important is about to happen. 4
