Our Method subwoofer (now out of production) is legendary, one of the most musical subs ever, and this despite the rather cheap plate-amp we matched up with it. The amp sounded good enough but it was a typical subwoofer plate-amp. Good news though, we have made a direct replacement that is based on the subwoofer amp we developed for our Defi nition Mk.IV loudspeaker, featuring the excellent Hypex UcD 400 DS4.0 V5 amp module and expanded controls and signal processing. Sorry, no refund for the old one, it s not worth the shipping but you can send it back to us for recycling. This upgrade kit is only available direct from Zu. It accepts line-level signals including sub and loudspeaker-level signals. The amplifi er is totally sealed but does not employ a sealing tube, caution should be exercised in handling the amp. Class-D analog switching amp with heavy-duty linear power supply. Amplifi er module is Hypex DS4 UcD 400-V5. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. Dangerous voltages are present inside case during operation. We also recommend that you switch the power off between daily use. This plate-amp presents a virtual ground node to the external main amplifi ers speaker negative (SP ) output. Bridged amplifi ers will see this as a short and self protect.
