Examsoft SofTest Download Instructions Windows Version If you have an older version on SofTest installed on your computer you MUST uninstall this program before installing the new version 1. Open an Internet browser and go to www.examsoft.com/chicagokentlaw 2. Under Exam Takers enter the 5 digit Student ID you were given in an email from the Registrar and the last 6 digits of your CWID as the password You can retrieve the exam number by logging into webmail using Internet Explorer. Click on the Web for Students icon. Under Schedule click on Spring 2012. You will see the 5 digit exam number under Exam Schedule for Spring 2012 You can retrieve the CWID by logging into webmail via Internet Explorer as well. Click on the Web for Students icon. On the welcome screen you will see the CWID You can also retrieve the CWID by logging onto my.iit.edu. This will be the Banner CWID. 3. Choose Download SofTest from the available options on the left 4. Choose Download SofTest Windows
5. If you receive the message below please click No 6. You Run to download and install the file 7. Go through all of the steps to Install SoftTest and choose Finish 8. You must restart your computer once the installation is complete
9. SofTest will start and you will be prompted to Register SofTest 10. Enter your 5 digit Student ID and the last 6 digits of your CWID as your password 11. If your registration was successful you will receive the following message and the install process is complete Requirements Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 are the only supported Windows platforms for exams at Chicago-Kent. These operating systems can be either 32-bit or 64-bit versions.
Any individuals found to be running an unlicensed or "pirated" operating system on their computer may be declined technical assistance. "Virtualized" Windows operating systems via products such as the "Windows XP Mode" feature found in the Windows 7 operating system will not function for exams. Please note that you MUST come to the exam with the SofTest program properly installed and registered. Additionally, you should bring the following hardware components with you: o A power cord o A network cable (preferred but not mandatory) Information for Asian Operating Systems Must complete Users of Windows OS using Asian languages will not be able to download their exam files. The Windows Language Settings must be modified before registering SofTest. To make the change please follow the steps below. ASIAN LANGUAGE PACKAGES AND SOFTEST Users of Windows OS using Asian languages for non-unicode programs will not be able to auto upload answer files after taking exams using SofTest. They have two alternative solutions: 1) Manually upload answer files: www.examsoft.com/manup 2) Modify Windows language settings for non-unicode programs before registering SofTest with your ID and password How to Modify Windows Language Settings NOTE: The following steps must be completed BEFORE registering SofTest. Modifying these settings after registering SofTest will corrupt your registration and a reregistration will be required. After completing these steps, please double-click the SofTest icon on your desktop and register SofTest with your ID and password. We strongly recommend that you download, take and upload a Mock Exam.

Select "English (United States)" for "Standards and Formats" and set "Location" to "United States" and click on "Apply" 5.) Select the "Advanced" Tab 6.) Select "English (United States) for "Language for non-unicode programs"
7.) Click OK 8.) Reboot your computer 9.) Open and register SofTest Windows Vista & 7 1.) Go to "Start" \ "Control Panel" 2.) Open "Regional and Language Options 3.) Select the "Formats" Tab, select "English (United States)" Then click "Additional settings
4.) Ensure that the date/time format is correct 5.) Select the "Location" tab and set Current location to United States and click on "Apply"
6.) Select the "Administrative" Tab 7.) Click "Change System Locale" 8.) Under "Current system locale" select "English (United States)" 9.) Click OK 10.) Reboot your computer 11.) Open and register SofTest
