NRM Statistics 2013 1 NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED In 2013 the UK National Referral Mechanism (NRM) received 1746 referrals of potential victims of trafficking (PVoT); this represents a 47% increase on 2012 referral totals. The PVoTs were reported to be from 112 countries of origin 2 ; this represents a 18% increase on 2012 country of origin totals. The 1746 referrals were comprised of 1122 females (64%) and 624 males (36%) with 1295 (74%) referred for adult exploitation categories, 450 (26%) being referred for minor exploitation types and 1 (<1%) of unidentified age at time of exploitation. The 1556 referrals were comprised of 994 females (64%) and 562 males (36%) with 1155 (74%) referred for adult exploitation categories, 400 (26%) being referred for minor exploitation types and 1 (<1%) of unidentified age at time of exploitation. NORTHERN IRELAND - NRM Statistics 2013 11 In 2013 the UK National Referral Mechanism (NRM) received 41 referrals of potential victims of trafficking (PVoT) first encountered in Northern Ireland; this represents a 173% increase on 2012 referral totals and 2% of all UK referrals to the NRM. The 41 referrals were comprised of 25 females (61%) and 16 males (39%) with 21 (51%) referred for adult exploitation categories and 20 (49%) being referred for minor exploitation types. SCOTLAND - NRM Statistics 2013 14 In 2013 the UK National Referral Mechanism (NRM) received 99 referrals of potential victims of trafficking (PVoT) first encountered in Scotland; this represents a 3% increase on 2012 referral totals and 6% of all UK referrals to the NRM. The 99 referrals were comprised of 65 females (66%) and 34 males (34%) with 77 (78%) referred for adult exploitation categories and 22 (22%) being referred for minor exploitation types. WALES - NRM Statistics 2013 17 NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED In 2013 the UK National Referral Mechanism (NRM) received 50 referrals of potential victims of trafficking (PVoT) first encountered in Wales; this represents a 47% increase on 2012 referral totals and 3% of all UK referrals to the NRM. The 39 referrals were comprised of 38 females (76%) and 12 males (24%) with 42 (84%) referred for adult exploitation categories and 8 (16%) being referred for minor exploitation types.
