The Entries of Candidates will be made available for viewing through individual school log-in on the careers portal of the Council from 1 st August 2014. Procedure regarding accessing data of your students and confirming their entries for the Year 2015 Examination will be same as last year. The last date for online submission of Confirmation of Entries along with the Examination charges will be 15 th September 2014 without late charges and 30 th September 2014 with the late charges. Payment of examination charges for candidates who will be taking the ICSE / ISC 2015 Examination is to be made online. The charges due from individual schools will be automatically calculated by the system based on the number of candidates whose entries have been confirmed by the schools. Entries of Code 3 & Code 4 candidates along with their examination charges for the Year 2015 Examination will also be submitted online. 1
Forms for Nominating Inspectors, Supervising Examiners, Visiting Examiners and Invigilators The forms for nominating Inspectors, Supervising Examiners, Visiting Examiners and Invigilators will be made available on the careers portal of the Council website (www.cisce.org) and made accessible only to the Conveners appointed for the Year 2015 Examination. Transfer of Examination Centres Request for Transfer of Examination Centres for candidates taking the Year 2015 Examination will only be entertained online till 15 th December 2014. Registration of Candidates for ICSE / ISC 2016 Examination Registration of candidates for ICSE 2016 Examination will be done online through the careers portal of the Council from 1 st August 2014 to 15 th September 2014 without late charges and till 30 th September 2014 without late charges. For ISC 2016, online registration will be accepted from 1 st August 2014 to 15 th September 2014. Request for transfer of registration of candidates from one affiliated school to another affiliated school, corrections in entry details of candidates, withdrawal of candidates registered for ICSE / ISC 2016 Examination will be accepted online after the registration period. 2
NATIONAL AWARDS TO TEACHERS OF SCHOOLS YEAR 2014 AFFILIATED TO THE COUNCIL The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, gives Six National Awards to the Teachers/Principals of schools affiliated to the Council. (a) GENERAL CATEGORY Five Awards are given in this category. Teachers / Heads meeting the following broad criteria may apply: 1. Qualified and trained. 2. Minimum teaching experience of 15 years for Teachers and 20 years for Heads in schools affiliated to the Council. 3. Contributed significantly to co-curricular activities/games/sports. 4. Commands respect among students and colleagues. 5. Held in high esteem by the community, particularly the parents. (b) SPECIAL CATEGORY One Award is given to the following category of teachers: 1. Teachers with disabilities working in regular schools. 2. Special teachers or trained general teachers who may have done outstanding work for Inclusive Education. The eligibility for the above Special Category is 10 years classroom experience for teachers and 15 years for Headmasters/Principals. The other eligibility conditions remain the same as mentioned in the Awards booklet. Application forms are available from the office of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. The last date for receiving entries is 31 st August, 2014. SCHOOL CODE Heads of Schools are requested to use the School Code in all their correspondence with the office of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. The School Codes are given in the List of Affiliated Schools booklet. Kindly have your School Code printed on the school letterhead. 3

CALENDAR FOR THE ICSE EXAMINATION OF MARCH 2015 August 2014 Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (Year -10) : The period for receipt of reports on arrangements for the ICSE 2014 examination from the Conveners. 15 th September 2014 : The last date for online submission of entry forms for candidates not in attendance at school. The Agenda should include: (i) (ii) (iii) The election or re-election of a Convener of the local committee. Convener/s is/are not allowed to continue for more than three consecutive years and should be elected on rotation once every three years. This is applicable for schools, where there are more than two or more affiliated schools in the same city / town. The number and location of centres for the March 2015 Examination. 15 th September 2014 : The last date for confirmation of entries for the ICSE March 2015 examination to be received online. October 2014 to December 2014 : The period for online submission of Nomination of Supervising Examiners / Inspectors / Invigilators. 15th December 2014 : The last date for online submission of applications for transfer of centres. 15 th February 2015 : The last date for online submission of withdrawal applications. 2. ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE MARCH 2015 ICSE EXAMINATION The Convener of each local committee for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education is requested to convene a meeting of Heads of Schools which are preparing candidates for the ICSE Examination to make arrangements for the March 2015 Examination. Independent Centres will normally not be allotted to schools with less than 15 candidates. If there are schools having less than 15 candidates from the same City/Town, they should have a common centre. (iv) The arrangements for Supervising Examiners and the honorarium to be paid to Supervising Examiners. (v) The arrangements for invigilators for the Examination. (vi) Arrangements for Visiting Examiners for Science Practical / Internal Assessment in various subjects offered by the candidates of a school and the amount to be paid to them. Note: Science Practicals are to be internally assessed. (vii) The amount of local charges to be charged other than item (v) above. (viii) Special arrangements with banks for the safe custody of question papers. Any other matter which is considered necessary for the administration of the examination in the area. 4
It is requested that the Convener send a report on the action taken and the decisions arrived at, on the items mentioned above and other matters that may have been raised or decided at the meeting. The report on arrangements for examination is to be submitted by the conveners online. 3. CHANGE OF SUBJECTS ARE NOT PERMITTED Change of subjects will not be permitted once the entries for the ICSE(10)/ISC(12) Examinations have been received from the schools and accepted by the Council. Heads of Schools should, therefore, ensure that all candidates are entered for the correct subjects and should make it clear to the candidates that no change of subjects will be permitted subsequently. NOTE Heads of Schools are to kindly ensure that all admissions to Classes IX and XI in respect of candidates for entry to the ICSE(10) Examination and ISC(12) Examinations are positively regularized by 31 st July 2014 for ICSE(10) and 31 st August 2014 for ISC(12) respectively. STARTING CLASS XI Heads of Schools must not admit candidates to Class XI if the Council has not granted the School written permission to start Class XI of the ISC (12) course. [ Please note that the Visiting Examiner should be a subject expert (trained post graduate in the subject he/she is appointed for) teaching at least at the level of examination. The Visiting Examiner is however not permitted to assess the work of candidates of his /her own school]. Note: The names of the schools in which laboratories will be located for practical examinations must also be intimated to the Council. 6

Since the Council deals with only the Heads of Schools, any appointment other than that of the Head of the School (e.g. Director, C.E.O. Rector/Bursar/Dean of Studies, Vice-Principal) need NOT be notified to the Council. THE DEROZIO AWARD Instituted by: Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations For Education and Human Enrichment For Principals / Teachers Henry L.V. Derozio (1809 1830), arguably the first Indian poet, freedom fighter and social reformer, was fondly referred to as the National Bard of Modern India. He taught English at Hindu College (later Presidency College), Calcutta, and set up a youth movement to promote nationalism and enlightened living. Through his writing he fired the imagination of a generation of Derozians, young people of conviction who were prepared to make any sacrifice for the cause of freedom. The Harp of India, To India my Native Land and Fakir of Jungheera are among his best known writings. The Derozio Awards was instituted to celebrate and commemorate the life of this great revolutionary, so that his life may inspire a new generation of people to emulate his life and work, in the service of the nation. Objective The Derozio Awards for exemplary service to school education and human enrichment have been instituted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, to honour and motivate people to serve the nation in a manner that clearly defines leadership in an identified sphere. The Awards seek to: identify people who make a difference in their sphere of work; promote a sense of achievement, recognition and support for a cause; recognize the work of people for the greater good of humanity; establish a role for people to contribute to the nation; enable professional people to reach out; generate concern for the social, physical or cultural ecology of the nation; enhance global goodwill and understanding. Categories of Awards: The Awards will be given annually in any two of the following categories covering: 1. Service in the sphere of school education promoting quality teaching practices; 2. Service in the sphere of educational administration and management; and 3. Service to education through goodwill, human understanding and enrichment. Note: (a) (b) Awards: The jury at its discretion will decide each year in which two categories the awards will be made. At least one of the two awards will be given to a teacher/principal associated with a School affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. Each award will consist of the following: 1. An Engraved Gold Medal 24 gms (22 carats) 2. A Citation Plaque Engraved in Silver 3. A Certificate / Scroll 4. An amount of Rs. 1 Lakh in the form of an account payee cheque. 8
The Jury The Jury shall consist of the following: (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) The Chairman of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, shall be ex-officio Chairman of the jury. An eminent public servant or ex-judge of the Supreme Court. Two eminent educationists who have established record(s) of service in school education. A person of eminence, who has served in the armed forces. The Chief Executive of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations shall be the exofficio Secretary to the Jury. The Process The procedure for application is flexible. Nomination forms are designed to provide basic information. Additional documentation would be called for from short listed nominees. Validity of Nominations Nominations received will be considered only for the year in which the application is made. Procedure The Jury shall meet once a year to consider the nominations and make its selections. The Jury shall establish procedures for selecting the awardees. The decision of the Jury will be final and binding. The Jury may make recommendations to the Executive Committee of the Council to promote the Awards. It is therefore important to keep this information accurate and up-to-date. Schools are requested to immediately log on to the careers portal and update the information in the Periodic Update Module with regard to the following: The Management (Name of Trust / Society / Company) which owns the School The Principal and Staff Service Rules Specimen Signature of the Head of the School Contact Details (Land Line Numbers, Cell Phone Numbers and School email-ids Information regarding nearest CISCE affiliated schools etc. Any future change taking place with regard to any of these must be promptly updated in the CAREERS System. Supporting documents must also be uploaded at the time of updating the information. Schools will have to update the information in the CAREERS System on their own. Instead of sending mails regarding change in the details of the school, kindly log in using your Username and Password to access the system and enter the details about the changes that have come into effect. To update schoolrelated information, carry out the following steps: 1. Log into the CAREERS System at https://careers.cisce.org with your Username and Password. 2. Click on the e-affiliation tile. 3.
