Adaption CVT CVT adaption BMW Mini: After repair or replacement of valve body, adaption of the CVT is highly recommended. Before adaption run, the adaption should be reseted with a scanner. (for example: Snap-on or with the original BMW-equiment.) For the adaption of a CVT transmission the following steps should be followed as stated in the next sheets. The clutch adaption can also be done separately.
Adaption (Clutch) For the following steps the brake should be used. 1. Start with cold engine. With an increased stationaryrpm shift in P during 10 secondsand during 10 secondsin D. The display shows XP in P position. 2. Repeat the following steps 10 times. a. Shift in Nfor 3 seconds b. Shift in Dfor 3 seconds The display shows XPin P position.
Adaption (Clutch) 3. Repeat the following steps 10 times. a. Shift in Nfor 3 seconds b. Shift in Rfor 3 seconds c. The display shows XPin P position
Adaption (Ratio) 1. Let the car accelerate to > 85 km/h. Release the throttle pedal and let the car rol out to a stop. The transmission will adapt from 4500, 4000, >., 1500 and 1400 rpm. The display shows Pin P position. 2. The engine is now on working temperature. The stationary rpm is 800/min. Repeat step 2 and 3 from the clutch adaption. 3. Turn the carkey in position 0.
Adaption CVT ATTENTION Wait for at least 10 minutes before disconnecting the battery. The battery should be disconnected for minimum 2 minutes!
Problems Hard shift N-D Eratic shift between 80 110 kph. No upshift No downshift This kind of problems could be also solved by adaption.
