ADF Event Management Guide Alcohol Management Strategy Background 1. On 01 May 16, 1st Joint Movement Group (1JMOVGP) will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its formation. This occasion is not only an important milestone in the Group s history, but also a unique opportunity to recognise the ongoing contribution that 1JMOVGP makes in support of Australian Defence Force (ADF) domestic and global operations and exercises. This occasion also offers an opportunity to recognise the current and former personnel (military and Australian Public Servants) that have been posted to 1JMOVGP and the achievements as a result of their contribution. Aim 2. The aim of this Instruction is to detail the administrative arrangements for the 20th Anniversary activities to be held on or around 01 May 16, as well as provide guidance on regional activities to be hosted by sub-unit commanders. 20th Anniversary Dinner 3. To celebrate the 20th anniversary, COMD 1JMOVGP will host a dinner at Old Parliament House on Thu 28 Apr 16 as the principle anniversary activity. This dinner will provide the opportunity to formally recognise the Group s sustained contributions to the ADF and is open to all current and former unit members (regardless of rank), as well as partners, through a member-to-pay arrangement. 4. The dinner will comprise of a three course (alternate drop) meal with a beverage package and the ticket price will be $115.00 per person, payable in full prior to the event. All ticket sales are to be conducted through the Activity Coordinator (AC) and payments are to be made to the following Defence Bank account that has been set up for this event: a. Key Dates. The following dates are significant for the 1JMOVGP 20th Anniversary Activities: a. 22 Feb 16 Administrative Instruction released b. The following denotes the sequence of events for the 20th Anniversary Dinner on 28 Apr 16 at Old Parliament House: a. 1830 Pre-Dinner Reception hosted by COMD 1JMOVGP b. 1900 Dinner commences c. 2115 Retire to anti-chamber d. 2200 Function concludes. 8. Dress and Equipment. Dress for the 20th Anniversary Dinner will be: a. Uniformed Members. Winter Mess Dress (or Service equivalent) due to being post ANZAC Day. b. Civilians. Jacket and Tie / Ladies equivalent. Commanders Conference: 27 29 April 9. Due to the size and disposition of the Group, HQ 1JMOVGP will only host the subunit OCs and a WO representative at the 28 Apr 16 dinner. Therefore, in order to enable their attendance, the Commander 1JMOVGP s Conference will be held over the period 27 to 29 Apr 16. Localised Activities 10. Complementing the Anniversary Dinner, 1JMOVGP sub-unit commanders are to host local activities to mark the 20th anniversary during the month of May. OCs are required to submit details of their planned activity to COMD 1JMOVGP NLT 30 Mar 16.
Event Management 11. The conduct of any activity associated with the 20th anniversary, and where alcohol is available, is to be conducted IAW Reference A. Public Affairs Support 12. Public affairs support for the 20th anniversary, and associated events, is requested to be coordinated by the J09 Branch - HQJOC. 13. CO 28SQN is requested to provide imagery support to the 20th Anniversary Dinner on 28 Apr 16. Key Personnel 14. Therefore, support for this activity is encouraged to ensure the 20th anniversary is appropriately acknowledged.
